But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

For I know that you will bring me to death and to the house appointed for all living.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

“ For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.

For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return.Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?

For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

“ For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,“ Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Why do you not pardon my transgression and take away my iniquity? For now I shall lie in the earth; you will seek me, but I shall not be.”

After saying these things, he said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”The disciples said to him,“ Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner; but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.

For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God,whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!

they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails, because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets—
