But man dieth, and is laid low: Yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?

但人死亡而消灭；他气绝，竟在何处呢？

但壮士一死就消逝了；人一气绝，他在何处呢？

但壮士一死就消逝了；人一气绝，他在何处呢？

但人一死，就失去力量；人一咽气，就不知去向。

人死了，就化为乌有；人一气绝就不在了。

但人死亡而消滅；他氣絕，竟在何處呢？

但人一死，就失去力量；人一嚥氣，就不知去向。

人死了，就化為烏有；人一氣絕就不在了。

但人死了就過去；人一氣絕，究竟在哪裏呢？

惟人死而僵、其氣既絕、則安在哉、

人則異是、始則血衰、既而氣絕、歸於無有。

惟人死則滅、人氣絕則安在、

But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and is no more.

No man is like that. When he dies, he is buried in a grave. He takes his last breath. Then he is gone.

“ But when people die, their strength is gone. They breathe their last, and then where are they?

But a person dies and fades away; he breathes his last— where is he?

But a man dies and lies prostrate. A person passes away, and where is he?

But man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last And where is he?

But a man dies and fades away; he breathes his last— where is he?

But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where[ is] he?

But man dies and is powerless; he expires– and where is he?

But man dies, and is laid low. Yes, man gives up the spirit, and where is he?

So man lieth down and riseth not: Till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, Nor be roused out of their sleep.

Oh remember that my life is a breath: Mine eye shall no more see good.The eye of him that seeth me shall behold me no more; Thine eyes shall be upon me, but I shall not be.As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, So he that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more.He shall return no more to his house, Neither shall his place know him any more.

Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me.

Why died I not from the womb? Why did I not give up the ghost when my mother bare me?

And after my skin, even this body, is destroyed, Then without my flesh shall I see God;

And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, And they shall have no way to flee; And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.

And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.

If I look for Sheol as my house; If I have spread my couch in the darkness;If I have said to corruption, Thou art my father; To the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister;Where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who shall see it?It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, When once there is rest in the dust.

The wicked is thrust down in his evil- doing; But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: and the rich man also died, and was buried.And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
