But the witless can no more become wise than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.

A wild donkey’s colt can’t be born a human being. And it’s just as impossible that a person without sense can become wise.

But a stupid man will get understanding when a wild donkey’s colt is born a man!

An empty headed person won’t become wise any more than a wild donkey can bear a human child.

But a stupid person will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a human!

An idiot will become intelligent When a wild donkey is born a human.

For an empty-headed man will be wise, When a wild donkey’s colt is born a man.

But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.

But a stupid man will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a man!

For vain man would be wise, though man be born[ like] a wild ass’s colt.

An empty- headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

Who let the wild donkey go free? Who released the bonds of the donkey,to whom I appointed the steppe for its home, the salt wastes as its dwelling place?It scorns the tumult in the town; it does not hear the shouts of a driver.It ranges the hills as its pasture, and searches after every green plant.

I was ignorant and lacked insight; I was as senseless as an animal before you.

But would you like evidence, you empty fellow, that faith without works is useless?

I also thought to myself,“ It is for the sake of people, so God can clearly show them that they are like animals.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.

And he said to mankind,‘ The fear of the LORD– that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

The spiritually insensitive do not recognize this; the fool does not understand this.

Look, I was guilty of sin from birth, a sinner the moment my mother conceived me.

He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning is brought to a quick end.

“ Without a doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?

Surely I am more brutish than any other human being, and I do not have human understanding;I have not learned wisdom, nor do I have knowledge of the Holy One.Who has ascended into heaven, and then descended? Who has gathered up the winds in his fists? Who has bound up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name?– if you know!

Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air.Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it!

You are like a wild female donkey brought up in the wilderness. In her lust she sniffs the wind to get the scent of a male. No one can hold her back when she is in heat. None of the males need wear themselves out chasing after her. At mating time she is easy to find.

What is man that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

Guard against self- deception, each of you. If someone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he can become wise.For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest…

“ Does the wild donkey bray when it is near grass? Or does the ox low near its fodder?

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
