But the witless can no more become wise than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.

A wild donkey’s colt can’t be born a human being. And it’s just as impossible that a person without sense can become wise.

But a stupid man will get understanding when a wild donkey’s colt is born a man!

An empty headed person won’t become wise any more than a wild donkey can bear a human child.

But a stupid person will gain understanding as soon as a wild donkey is born a human!

An idiot will become intelligent When a wild donkey is born a human.

For an empty-headed man will be wise, When a wild donkey’s colt is born a man.

But vain man is void of understanding, Yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.

An empty- headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.The range of the mountains[ is] his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

So foolish[ was] I, and ignorant: I was[ as] a beast before thee.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

Who[ is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.This wisdom descendeth not from above, but[ is] earthly, sensual, devilish.For where envying and strife[ is], there[ is] confusion and every evil work.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,[ and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that[ is] wisdom; and to depart from evil[ is] understanding.

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

No doubt but ye[ are] the people, and wisdom shall die with you.But I have understanding as well as you; I[ am] not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

Surely I[ am] more brutish than[ any] man, and have not the understanding of a man.I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what[ is] his name, and what[ is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Surely men of low degree[ are] vanity,[ and] men of high degree[ are] a lie: to be laid in the balance, they[ are] altogether[ lighter] than vanity.Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart[ upon them].

A wild ass used to the wilderness,[ that] snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

What[ is] man, that he should be clean? and[ he which is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?

[ Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
