撒但回答耶和華說：「約伯敬畏神，豈是無故呢？

撒旦說：「約伯敬畏你難道無緣無故嗎？

撒但回答耶和華說：“約伯敬畏神，難道是無緣無故的嗎？

撒但回答永恆主說：『約伯哪裏是無緣無故敬畏上帝呢？

對曰、約伯寅畏上帝、豈無所為乎、

撒但曰、約百畏上帝、豈無為而然乎。

撒但對主曰、約百敬畏天主、豈無所為乎、

“ Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.

“ You always give Job everything he needs,” Satan replied.“ That’s why he has respect for you.

Then Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Does Job fear God for no reason?

Satan replied to the Lord,“ Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God.

Satan answered the LORD,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?

Then Satan answered the Lord,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?

So Satan answered the Lord and said,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?

Then Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Satan answered the Lord,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Then Satan answered the LORD,“ Is it for nothing that Job fears God?

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said,“ Does Job fear God for nothing?

What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? (niv)

Yet they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’ (niv)

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (niv)

He replied,“ You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. (niv)

But godliness with contentment is great gain. (niv)

and said:“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (niv)

“ Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord Almighty,“ and I will accept no offering from your hands. (niv)
