We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.

Jesus replied,“ There are twelve hours of daylight every day. During the day people can walk safely. They can see because they have the light of this world.But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light.”

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone— especially to those in the family of faith.

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.

I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

But I have a greater witness than John— my teachings and my miracles. The Father gave me these works to accomplish, and they prove that he sent me.

Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work.

So Jesus explained,“ I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

Jesus said,“ At my Father’s direction I have done many good works. For which one are you going to stone me?”

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.Only the living can praise you as I do today. Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.

Jesus replied,“ Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow; and the third day I will accomplish my purpose.Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn’t do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem!“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.
