病者對曰：『主、水動時、無人扶我入池、比予往、他人已捷足先至矣。』

“ Sir,” the invalid replied,“ I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

“ Sir,” the disabled man replied,“ I have no one to help me into the pool when an angel stirs up the water. I try to get in, but someone else always goes down ahead of me.”

The sick man answered him,“ Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.”

“ I can’t, sir,” the sick man said,“ for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”

“ Sir,” the disabled man answered,“ I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, someone goes down ahead of me.”

The sick man answered Him,“ Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

他解救那呼救的貧窮人，以及那無人幫助的困苦人；

難道你們不知道，賽場上奔跑的人雖然都在跑，但是得獎的只有一個嗎？你們也應當這樣奔跑，好使你們得著獎賞。

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們在亞細亞省所遭受的患難：我們所受的壓力遠遠過於我們的承受能力，甚至連活下去的希望也沒有了。然而我們在自己裡面已經承受了死亡的判決，好讓我們不依靠自己，而依靠那使死人復活的神。他救我們脫離了如此致命的危險，並且將來要救我們——我們盼望他將來還要救我們。

求你向我右邊觀看，沒有人理睬我，我沒有避難的地方，也沒有人顧念我的靈魂！
