You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,

You study the Scriptures carefully. You study them because you think they will give you eternal life. The Scriptures you study are a witness about me.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

“ You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

“ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

Then He told them,“ These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.First of all, you should know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation,because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Search and read the scroll of the Lord: Not one of them will be missing, none will be lacking its mate, because He has ordered it by my mouth, and He will gather them by His Spirit.

The people here were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, since they welcomed the message with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you,and you know that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that would come to you searched and carefully investigated.They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when He testified in advance to the messianic sufferings and the glories that would follow.

To this very day, I have obtained help that comes from God, and I stand and testify to both small and great, saying nothing else than what the prophets and Moses said would take place—that the Messiah must suffer, and that as the first to rise from the dead, He would proclaim light to our people and to the Gentiles.”

For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers, since they did not recognize Him or the voices of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled their words by condemning Him.

which He promised long ago through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures—

How I love Your instruction! It is my meditation all day long.Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are always with me.I have more insight than all my teachers because Your decrees are my meditation.

Listen to instruction and be wise; don’t ignore it.Anyone who listens to me is happy, watching at my doors every day, waiting by the posts of my doorway.

Considerable in every way. First, they were entrusted with the spoken words of God.

The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and snared. They have rejected the word of the Lord, so what wisdom do they really have?

Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so He does not open His mouth.In His humiliation justice was denied Him. Who will describe His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.The eunuch replied to Philip,“ I ask you, who is the prophet saying this about— himself or another person?”So Philip proceeded to tell him the good news about Jesus, beginning from that Scripture.

You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me.

“ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.

Haven’t you read this Scripture: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Jesus answered them,“ You are deceived, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.

For a command is a lamp, teaching is a light, and corrective discipline is the way to life.

for with You is life’s fountain. In Your light we will see light.

“ You aren’t from Galilee too, are you?” they replied.“ Investigate and you will see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”

“ But Abraham said,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.’

Philip found Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law( and so did the prophets): Jesus the son of Joseph, from Nazareth!”

For they are not meaningless words to you but they are your life, and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.

There is Another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony He gives about Me is valid.

Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me,“ Don’t do that! I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers who have the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you believe.”

“ Imprint these words of mine on your hearts and minds, bind them as a sign on your hands, and let them be a symbol on your foreheads.Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,

This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.

“ But he told him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.’”

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”“ What is written in the law?” He asked him.“ How do you read it?”He answered: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.“ You’ve answered correctly,” He told him.“ Do this and you will live.”But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.

He asked You for life, and You gave it to him— length of days forever and ever.

Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.

“ But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.

Just then someone came up and asked Him,“ Teacher, what good must I do to have eternal life?”“ Why do you ask Me about what is good?” He said to him.“ There is only One who is good. If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”“ Which ones?” he asked Him. Jesus answered: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness;honor your father and your mother; and love your neighbor as yourself.“ I have kept all these,” the young man told Him.“ What do I still lack?”

It is like the dew of Hermon falling on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord has appointed the blessing— life forevermore.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, and some to shame and eternal contempt.

Now if you call yourself a Jew, and rest in the law, boast in God,know His will, and approve the things that are superior, being instructed from the law,

When he is seated on his royal throne, he is to write a copy of this instruction for himself on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to observe all the words of this instruction, and to do these statutes.

But they now desire a better place— a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

Women received their dead— they were raised to life again. Some men were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection,
