視其所寓、遍傳全境、輒有舁病者以就。所歷城村、無不以病者置諸街頭、但求一撫其衣緣、獲撫者莫不全復。

瑪大謂耶穌曰：『主若在此、吾兄當不至遽死、

耶穌遂與偕往、及距宅不遠、百夫長遣諸友趨前代陳曰：『主毋勞駕！主入敝廬、非所敢當！因此予亦不敢冒昧進謁。願賜一言、吾僕必愈。蓋予亦屬人權下、士卒又處予權下、諭此曰去即去、呼彼曰來即來、凡有所命、僕必從焉。』
