They will scourge Him and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.

Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying,“ Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.

From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying,“ Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

Let your heart live forever!All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.For the kingdom is the LORD’s, And He rules over the nations.All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive.A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.

Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.But God raised Him from the dead.He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people.And we declare to you glad tidings— that promise which was made to the fathers.God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm:‘ You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.’And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus:‘ I will give you the sure mercies of David.’Therefore He also says in another Psalm:‘ You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.’“ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;but He whom God raised up saw no corruption.
