To those who sold doves he said,“ Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

謂市鴿者曰、可將之去、勿以我父室、為貿易室、

謂售鴿者曰、將是物去之、毋以我父之室、為貿易之室、

顧謂售鴿者曰：『速收拾以去！勿以吾父之室、轉為貿利之場！』

He told those who were selling doves,“ Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

And he told those who sold the pigeons,“ Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.”

Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them,“ Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”

and to those who were selling the doves He said,“ Take these things away from here; stop making My Father’s house a place of business!”

And He said to those who sold doves,“ Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise.

“ It is written,” he said to them,“‘ My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it‘ a den of robbers.’”

“ Why were you searching for me?” he asked.“ Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.

to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever.And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant—these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”The Sovereign Lord declares— he who gathers the exiles of Israel:“ I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered.”Come, all you beasts of the field, come and devour, all you beasts of the forest!Israel’s watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they lie around and dream, they love to sleep.They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, they seek their own gain.

And as he taught them, he said,“ Is it not written:‘ My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it‘ a den of robbers.’”

With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed— an accursed brood!They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness.

In his defense Jesus said to them,“ My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

The merchant uses dishonest scales and loves to defraud.Ephraim boasts,“ I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.”

Jesus said,“ Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in a lot of business for the craftsmen there.He called them together, along with the workers in related trades, and said:“ You know, my friends, that we receive a good income from this business.And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all.There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

“ I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus,“ but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
