比辣多應曰：『何謂真理？』言竟復出、而告猶太人曰：『吾未見其罪也。

彼拉多又出來對眾人說：「看，我帶他出來見你們，讓你們知道我查不出他有甚麼罪狀。」

祭司長和聖殿警衛看見他，就喊着說：「釘十字架！釘十字架！」彼拉多對他們說：「你們自己把他帶去釘十字架吧！我查不出他有甚麼罪狀。」

彼拉多對祭司長們和眾人說：「我查不出這人有甚麼罪來。」

「他並沒有犯罪，口裏也沒有詭詐。」他被辱罵不還口，受害也不說威嚇的話，只將自己交託給公義的審判者。

彼拉多見說也無濟於事，反要生亂，就拿水在眾人面前洗手，說：「流這人的血，罪不在我，你們承當吧。」

而是憑着基督的寶血，如同無瑕疵、無玷污的羔羊的血。

總督原知道他們是因為嫉妒才把他解了來。正坐堂的時候，他的夫人打發人來說：「這義人的事，你一點不可管，因為我今天在夢中因他受了許多的苦。」

保羅講論公義、節制和將來的審判，腓力斯害怕起來，就回答：「你暫且去吧！等我有機會時再來叫你。」腓力斯又指望保羅送他銀錢，所以屢次叫他來，和他談論。

眾人聽見死人復活的話，就有人譏誚他；又有人說：「我們會再聽你講這事。」

彼拉多說：「為甚麼？他做了甚麼惡事呢？」他們更加喊着：「把他釘十字架！」

他們就把他帶到亞略巴古，說：「你所講的這新學說，我們也可以知道嗎？因為你有些奇怪的事傳到我們耳中，我們想知道這些事是甚麼意思。」

猶太人的祭司長就對彼拉多說：「不要寫『猶太人的王』，要寫『那人說：我是猶太人的王』。」彼拉多回答：「我寫了就寫了。」

對他們說：「你們解這人到我這裏，說他是煽惑百姓的。看哪，我也曾在你們面前審問他，並沒有查出這人犯過你們控告他的任何罪；就是希律也是如此，所以把他送回來。可見他沒有做甚麼該死的事。所以，我要責打他，把他釋放。」
