Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?”

Then Pilate went back inside the palace. He ordered Jesus to be brought to him. Pilate asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?”

So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him,“ Are you the King of the Jews?”

Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him.“ Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him.

Therefore Pilate entered the Praetorium again, and summoned Jesus and said to Him,“ You are the King of the Jews?”

Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him,“ Are You the King of the Jews?”

Pilate therefore entered again into the Prætorium, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

Then Pilate went back into the headquarters, summoned Jesus, and said to Him,“ Are You the King of the Jews?”

Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

So Pilate went back into the governor’s residence, summoned Jesus, and asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?”

Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him,“ Are you the King of the Jews?”

He went back into the headquarters and asked Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus did not give him an answer.

“ You are a king then?” Pilate asked.“ You say that I’m a king,” Jesus replied.“ I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will accomplish this.

And they kept coming up to him and saying,“ Hail, king of the Jews!” and were slapping his face.

they took palm branches and went out to meet him. They kept shouting:“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord— the King of Israel!”

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters. It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.So Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”

For it was not David who ascended into the heavens, but he himself says: The Lord declared to my Lord,‘ Sit at my right handuntil I make your enemies your footstool.’“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

So Pilate asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?” He answered him,“ You say so.”Pilate then told the chief priests and the crowds,“ I find no grounds for charging this man.”

Now Jesus stood before the governor.“ Are you the king of the Jews?” the governor asked him. Jesus answered,“ You say so.”

“ Rabbi,” Nathanael replied,“ You are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel!”

So Pilate asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?” He answered him,“ You say so.”

“ I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”I will declare the LORD’s decree. He said to me,“ You are my Son; today I have become your Father.Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession.You will break them with an iron scepter; you will shatter them like pottery.”So now, kings, be wise; receive instruction, you judges of the earth.Serve the LORD with reverential awe and rejoice with trembling.Pay homage to the Son or he will be angry and you will perish in your rebellion, for his anger may ignite at any moment. All who take refuge in him are happy.

From that moment Pilate kept trying to release him. But the Jews shouted,“ If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend. Anyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar!”

In the presence of God, who gives life to all, and of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you

Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.

The LORD has removed your punishment; he has turned back your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is among you; you need no longer fear harm.

“ Look, the days are coming”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ when I will raise up a Righteous Branch for David. He will reign wisely as king and administer justice and righteousness in the land.

Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told him,“ Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”He answered,“ I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out.”

Pilate also had a sign made and put on the cross. It said: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.Many of the Jews read this sign, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek.So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate,“ Don’t write,‘ The king of the Jews,’ but that he said,‘ I am the king of the Jews.’”Pilate replied,“ What I have written, I have written.”
