Therefore Pilate came out to them and* said,“ What accusation are you bringing against this Man?”

比辣多乃出而問曰：『爾曹控此人何事？』

So Pilate came out to them and asked,“ What charges are you bringing against this man?”

Pilate came out to them. He asked,“ What charges are you bringing against this man?”

So Pilate went outside to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

So Pilate, the governor, went out to them and asked,“ What is your charge against this man?”

So Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”

Pilate then went out to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this Man?”

Pilate therefore went out unto them, and saith, What accusation bring ye against this man?

Then Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”

So Pilate came outside to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

Pilate therefore went out to them, and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

But he said,“ Why, what evil has He done?” Yet they kept shouting all the more, saying,“ Crucify Him!”

Pilate questioned Him:“ So You are the King of the Jews?” And He answered him,“ It is as you say.”And the chief priests started accusing Him of many things.But Pilate questioned Him again, saying,“ Do You offer nothing in answer? See how many charges they are bringing against You!”But Jesus said nothing further in answer, so Pilate was amazed.

And they began to bring charges against Him, saying,“ We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”Now Pilate asked Him, saying,“ So You are the King of the Jews?” And He answered him and said,“ It is as you say.”

And wanting to ascertain the basis for the charges they were bringing against him, I brought him down to their Council;and I found that he was being accused regarding questions in their Law, but was not charged with anything deserving death or imprisonment.When I was informed that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, also instructing his accusers to bring charges against him before you.”

Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying,“ So You are the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said to him,“ It is as you say.”And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not offer any answer.Then Pilate* said to Him,“ Do You not hear how many things they are testifying against You?”And still He did not answer him in regard to even a single charge, so the governor was greatly amazed.

I replied to them that it is not the custom of the Romans to hand over any person before the accused meets his accusers face to face, and has an opportunity to make his defense against the charges.
