And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.Then Paul said to him,“ God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?”And those who stood by said,“ Do you revile God’s high priest?”Then Paul said,“ I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written,‘ You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

Then they said,“ Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands.

They abhor me, they keep far from me; They do not hesitate to spit in my face.Because He has loosed my bowstring and afflicted me, They have cast off restraint before me.At my right hand the rabble arises; They push away my feet, And they raise against me their ways of destruction.

Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands,saying,“ Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?”

Now the men who held Jesus mocked Him and beat Him.And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying,“ Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?”

Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

They gape at me with their mouth, They strike me reproachfully on the cheek, They gather together against me.

Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.

Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.“ For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.
