and they repeatedly came up to Him and said,“ Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapped Him in the face again and again.

They loathe me and stand aloof from me, And they do not refrain from spitting in my face.Because He has undone my bowstring and afflicted me, They have cast off the bridle before me.On the right hand their mob arises; They push aside my feet and pile up their ways of destruction against me.

The men who were holding Jesus in custody began mocking Him and beating Him,and they blindfolded Him and repeatedly asked Him, saying,“ Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?”

“ Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They have laid siege against us; With a rod they will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.

They have gaped at me with their mouths, They have slapped me on the cheek with contempt; They have massed themselves against me.

The Lord God has opened My ear, And I was not disobedient, Nor did I turn back.I gave My back to those who strike Me, And My cheeks to those who pull out My beard; I did not hide My face from insults and spitting.For the Lord God helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have made My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.
