Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,

伯鐸祿遙尾耶穌後、入大司祭院宇、與眾僕圍火坐以取暖。

眾執耶穌解送總司祭署、伯鐸祿遙尾其後。

伯鐸祿遙尾其後、既至大司祭院中、乃與隸役共坐、以觀事之究竟。司祭以及公會、方搜覓偽證、以控耶穌、而置之死。其時雖有多人加以偽證、然終難得逞。繼有二人前進曰：『斯人曾云：「予能毀上主之殿。三日而復建之。」』於是大司祭起謂耶穌曰：『爾聞若輩之證言矣、竟無一言以答耶？』耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』耶穌曰：『爾言之矣。第予告爾、爾將見人子坐於全能者之右、自天駕雲而降。』大司祭怒而裂衣曰：『彼言僭妄、更需何證。君等盡聞；將何以處之？』僉曰：『當死！』乃唾其面、毆以拳、更有掌之者、且曰：『基督乎、爾為先知、請語吾儕擊爾者誰也。』
