站在旁邊的一個門徒拔出刀朝大祭司的奴僕砍去，削掉了他一隻耳朵。

跟隨耶穌的人見他們來勢洶洶，就說：「主啊，我們該拔刀抵抗嗎？」其中一人拔刀朝大祭司的奴僕砍過去，削掉了他的右耳。耶穌卻說：「住手！夠了！」於是祂摸那奴僕的耳朵，治好了他，

耶穌的跟隨者中有人伸手拔出佩刀朝大祭司的奴僕砍去，削掉了他一隻耳朵。耶穌對他說：「收刀入鞘吧！因為動刀的必死在刀下。難道你不知道，我可以請求我父馬上派十二營以上的天使來保護我嗎？我若這樣做，聖經上有關這事必如此發生的話又怎能應驗呢？」

一個大祭司的奴僕，就是被彼得削掉耳朵的那個人的親戚說：「我不是看見你和祂一起在園子裡嗎？」

耶穌說：「我實在告訴你，就在今天晚上雞叫兩次以前，你會三次不認我。」

西門·彼得說：「主啊，我願意和你一起坐牢，一起受死！」
