耶穌對他們說：「我的食物就是要遵行差我來那位的旨意，完成他的工作。

基督在他肉身的日子，曾大聲哀哭，流淚禱告，懇求那能救他免死的神，就因他的虔誠蒙了應允。他雖然為兒子，還是因所受的苦難學了順從。

「我現在心裏憂愁，我說甚麼才好呢？說『父啊，救我脫離這時候』嗎？但我正是為這時候來的。

我愛你們，正如父愛我一樣；你們要常在我的愛裏。

所以，基督到世上來的時候，就說：「祭物和禮物不是你所要的，但你曾給我預備了身體。燔祭和贖罪祭是你不喜歡的。那時我說：看哪！我來了，我的事在經卷上已經記載了；神啊！我來為要照你的旨意行。」以上說：「祭物和禮物，以及燔祭和贖罪祭，不是你所要的，也不是你喜歡的。」這都是按着律法獻的。他接着說：「看哪！我來了，為要照你的旨意行。」可見他除去在先的，為要立定在後的。

我的神啊，我樂意照你的旨意行，你的律法在我心裏。」

於是耶穌對彼得說：「收刀入鞘吧！我父給我的杯，我豈可不喝呢？」

仰望我們信心的創始成終者耶穌，他因那擺在前面的喜樂，輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦難，如今已坐在神寶座的右邊。你們要仔細想想這位忍受了罪人如此頂撞的耶穌，你們就不致心灰意懶了。

耶穌說了這些話，就同門徒出去，過了汲淪溪。在那裏有一個園子，他和門徒進去了。出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌和門徒屢次在那裏聚集。猶大領了一隊兵，以及祭司長和法利賽人的聖殿警衛，拿着燈籠、火把和兵器來到園裏。耶穌知道將要臨到自己的一切事，就出來對他們說：「你們找誰？」

起來，我們走吧！看哪，那出賣我的人快來了。」
