這樣、就到了西門彼得那裏了；彼得對耶穌說：『主啊，你洗我的腳麼？』

爰至西門伯鐸祿前、而伯鐸祿止之曰：『主欲濯吾足耶？』

So he cometh to Simon Peter. He saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“ Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

“ As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”Then Jesus* arrived from Galilee at the Jordan, coming to John to be baptized by him.But John tried to prevent Him, saying,“ I have the need to be baptized by You, and yet You are coming to me?”

It is He who comes after me, of whom I am not worthy even to untie the strap of His sandal.”
