彼得说：“主啊，为什么我现在就不能跟随你呢？为了你，我愿意舍弃自己的生命！”

彼得說：「主啊，我為甚麼現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命！」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得說：「主啊！為什麼我現在不能跟你去呢？就是為你死，我也願意！」

彼得說：“主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟著你去？為了你，我捨命也願意！”

彼得對耶穌說：『主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟着你啊？連我的性命、我都要替你放棄呢！』

彼得說：「主啊，為什麼我現在就不能跟隨你呢？為了你，我願意捨棄自己的生命！」

彼得曰、主、今何不能從爾乎、我欲為爾捐生、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾乎、我願為爾捐命、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾、我願為爾舍命、

伯鐸祿曰：『今亦曷為弗克相隨乎？雖為主致命、亦所甘心！』

Peter asked,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will give my life for you.”

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

Peter* said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.”

Peter said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”

Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You!”

On the way, Jesus told them,“ All of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say,‘ God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’But after I am raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there.”Peter said to him,“ Even if everyone else deserts you, I never will.”Jesus replied,“ I tell you the truth, Peter— this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.”“ No!” Peter declared emphatically.“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

On the way, Jesus told them,“ Tonight all of you will desert me. “ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”Peter said,“ Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.”But Jesus said,“ Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

But he said,“ Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.”

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter replied,“ you know I love you.”“ Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus— the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
