He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said,“ Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last.I am the living one. I died, but look— I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus,

The poor man owned nothing but one little lamb he had bought. He raised that little lamb, and it grew up with his children. It ate from the man’s own plate and drank from his cup. He cuddled it in his arms like a baby daughter.

So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him,“ Lord, your dear friend is very sick.”

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

So that disciple leaned over to Jesus and asked,“ Lord, who is it?”

The people who were standing nearby said,“ See how much he loved him!”

This disciple is the one who testifies to these events and has recorded them here. And we know that his account of these things is accurate.
