Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

他父母說這些話，是因為怕猶太人；因為猶太人已經約定了、若有人承認耶穌為基督，就該從會堂裏被革除。

懼怕人的、乃自設網羅；但倚靠永恆主的、必得到安穩。

所以凡在人面前承認我的，我在我天上的父面前也必承認他；

這人夜裏來見耶穌，對他說：『老師，我們知道你是從上帝那裏來做教師的；因為一個人、若不是上帝與他同在，就不能行你所行的這些神迹。』

每一個靈承認耶穌為基督、已在肉身裏來到的、乃是出於上帝：在這一點、你們就認出上帝的靈來了。

那些來看馬利亞的猶太人、見了耶穌所作的事，就有許多信了他的。

因為有許多猶太人為了他的緣故去信耶穌。

他們回答他說：『你、你全然生於罪中，還來教訓我們麼？』就革除他。

難道議員們或法利賽人中也有信他的？至於這不懂律法的羣眾呢，他們只是被咒詛的罷了。』他們中間有一個人、先前來見耶穌的尼哥底母、對他們說：『若不先聽聽他本人的口供，而知道他所作的是甚麼事，難道我們的律法還定人的罪麼？』

人恨惡你們，隔絕你們，辱罵並革除你們的名、認為是惡，為了人子的緣故、你們是有福的。

一聽見永恆主的話、就戰戰兢兢的人哪，你們聽永恆主的話吧！『你們的弟兄、那些恨惡你們、使你們為我名的緣故被趕逐的、曾譏笑說：「願永恆主得榮耀啊！讓我們看看你們的喜樂啊！」其實呢、蒙羞抱愧的倒是這種人呢！

使徒就從議院面前走開，心裏歡喜可以算作配為這名受侮辱的。

彼得在外面院子裏坐着；有一個使女上他跟前來，說：『你素來也是同加利利人耶穌一夥的呀！』彼得在眾人面前卻否認說：『你說甚麼，我不知道啊。』他出去到了門廊，另有一個女的看見他、就對那裏的人說，『這個人、素來也是同拿撒勒人耶穌一夥的。』彼得又否認，並帶着起誓說：『我不認識那個人。』過了一會兒，旁邊站着的人上前來，對彼得說：『真實地、你也是他們中間的人；因為你的口音把你顯得明明白白了。』這時彼得就極力咒詛自己並且起誓說：『我不認識那個人。』立刻地雞就叫了。彼得想起了耶穌所說的話：『雞叫以前，你就要三次否認我了』；便出去痛哭。

我告訴你們，凡在人面前承認我的，人子在上帝的使者面前也必承認他。

人必將你們革出會堂；不但如此，時候必到，凡殺你們的、且要以為是獻事奉與上帝呢！

心裏信就得以稱義，口裏承認就可以得救。

這些事以後，有亞利馬太人約瑟——他是耶穌的門徒，卻因怕猶太人而隱密地做門徒——他求彼拉多讓他把耶穌的身體取去。彼拉多准許了，他就來，把耶穌的身體取去。

你怕誰？你因誰而恐懼，竟然撒謊？連我、你都不懷念，不放在心上！豈不是我緘默不言又閉口許久了，以致連我、你都不畏懼麼？

親愛的，別以你們中間的火煉、那加在你們身上來試驗你們的、為奇怪，而以為有希奇的事臨到了你們。相反的，你們既在基督的受苦上有多少分兒，就該有多少喜樂，使你們在他榮耀顯示的時候也可以歡喜快樂。你們若在基督名內受辱罵，是有福的；因為「榮耀」之靈、就是上帝之靈、住在你們身上。你們中間別有人因做兇手或盜賊、或為非作惡、或騷擾社會、而受苦了。但若因做基督徒而受苦，就別慚愧了，倒要因有這名而榮耀上帝呢。

凡承認耶穌是上帝兒子的，上帝就住在他裏面，他也住在上帝裏面。
