But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected,

But Judas Iscariot didn’t like what Mary did. He was one of Jesus’ disciples. Later he was going to hand Jesus over to his enemies. Judas said,

Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who also betrayed Him.

Now Judas, who was betraying Him, also knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with His disciples.So Judas, having obtained the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees,* came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, came out into the open and* said to them,“ Whom are you seeking?”They answered Him,“ Jesus the Nazarene.” He* said to them,“ I am He.” And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them.

Jesus answered them,“ Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.”Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot; for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.

Jesus then* answered,“ That man is the one for whom I shall dip the piece of bread and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the piece of bread, He* took and* gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.

And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him,

Now Eliab his oldest brother heard him when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger burned against David and he said,“ Why is it that you have come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I myself know your insolence and the wickedness of your heart; for you have come down in order to see the battle.”But David said,“ What have I done now? Was it not just a question?”

I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind.
