约翰又作见证说：“我曾看见圣灵仿佛鸽子从天降下，停留在他的身上。

人要传讲你可畏的能力，我也要传扬你的伟大。他们要将你可记念的大恩传开，并要高唱你的公义。

看见这事的人作了见证—他的见证是真的，他知道自己所说的是真的—好让你们也信。

法利赛人对他说：“你是为自己作见证，你的见证不真。”耶稣回答他们，对他们说：“即使我为自己作见证，我的见证还是真的，因为我知道我从哪里来，到哪里去。你们却不知道我从哪里来，到哪里去。

“但我要从父那里差保惠师来，就是从父出来的那真理的灵，他来的时候要为我作见证。你们也要作见证，因为你们从起初就与我同在。”

有一大群犹太人知道耶稣在那里，就来了，不但是为耶稣的缘故，也是要看耶稣使他从死人中复活的拉撒路。

我知道你常常听我，但我说这话是为了周围站着的众人，要使他们信是你差了我来的。”

约翰就将神的道和耶稣基督的见证，凡自己所看见的，都见证出来。

既然我们领受人的见证，神的见证更该领受了，因为神的见证是为他儿子作的。信神儿子的，就有这见证在他心里；不信神的，就是把神当作说谎的，因为不信神为他儿子作的见证。这见证就是：神赐给我们永生，而这永生是在他儿子里面的。那有神儿子的，就有生命；没有神儿子的，就没有生命。

于是来看马利亚的犹太人中，有很多人见了耶稣所做的事，就信了他。但其中也有人去见法利赛人，把耶稣所做的事告诉他们。

我看见了，所以作证：这一位是神的儿子。”

那些同马利亚在家里安慰她的犹太人，见她急忙起来，出去，就跟着她，以为她要往坟墓那里去哭。

这是约翰的见证：犹太人从耶路撒冷差祭司和利未人到约翰那里去问他：“你是谁？”
