彼得還說這話的時候，聖靈降在一切聽道的人身上。那些奉割禮、和彼得同來的信徒，見聖靈的恩賜也澆在外邦人身上，就都希奇；因聽見他們說方言，稱讚神為大。於是彼得說：「這些人既受了聖靈，與我們一樣，誰能禁止用水給他們施洗呢？」 (cunpt)

當下，耶穌從加利利來到約旦河，見了約翰，要受他的洗。約翰想要攔住他，說：「我當受你的洗，你反倒上我這裏來嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你暫且許我，因為我們理當這樣盡諸般的義。」於是約翰許了他。 (cunpt)

他們就都被聖靈充滿，按着聖靈所賜的口才說起別國的話來。 (cunpt)
