爾曹各當謹防鄰里、勿信昆弟、蓋昆弟相欺特甚、鄰里往來讒毀、

“ Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer.

Be on guard against your friends. Do not trust the members of your own family. Every one of them cheats. Every friend tells lies.

Let everyone beware of his neighbor, and put no trust in any brother, for every brother is a deceiver, and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.

“ Beware of your neighbor! Don’t even trust your brother! For brother takes advantage of brother, and friend slanders friend.

Everyone has to be on guard against his friend. Don’t trust any brother, for every brother will certainly deceive, and every friend spread slander.

“ Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; Because every brother utterly betrays, And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.

“ Everyone take heed to his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; For every brother will utterly supplant, And every neighbor will walk with slanderers.

Everyone must be on his guard around his friends. He must not even trust any of his relatives. For every one of them will find some way to cheat him. And all of his friends will tell lies about him.

不可倚赖邻舍，不可信靠密友；甚至对躺在你怀中的妻子也要守住你的口。因为儿子藐视父亲，女儿抵挡母亲，媳妇抗拒婆婆，人的仇敌就是自己家里的人。

他们极其悖逆，到处毁谤人，他们是铜是铁，全都败坏了。

人人向邻舍说谎；他们说话嘴唇油滑，心口不一。愿耶和华剪除一切油滑的嘴唇，夸大的舌头。

仇敌用嘴唇掩饰，心里却藏着诡诈；他用甜言蜜语，你不能相信他，因为他心中有七样可憎恶的事。

不可在百姓中到处搬弄是非，不可陷害邻舍的性命。我是耶和华。

隐藏怨恨的，有说谎的嘴唇；口出毁谤的，是愚昧人。

那人说：“你的名字不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列，因为你与神和人较力，都得胜了。”

因为连你兄弟和你父家都以诡诈待你，甚至在你后边大声喊叫。虽然他们向你说好话，你也不要相信他们。”

以撒说：“你弟弟已经用诡计来把你的福分夺去了。”以扫说：“他名叫雅各，岂不是这样吗？他欺骗了我两次：他先前夺了我长子的名分，看哪，他现在又夺了我的福分。”以扫又说：“你没有留下给我的祝福吗？”

他不以舌头谗害人，不恶待朋友，也不随伙毁谤邻舍。

作假见证陷害邻舍的，就是大锤，是利刀，是快箭。

“你们不要以为我来是带给地上和平，我来并不是带来和平，而是刀剑。因为我来是要叫‘人与父亲对立，女儿与母亲对立，媳妇与婆婆对立。

你们要防备那些人，因为他们要把你们交给议会，也要在会堂里鞭打你们。

不准有人在这事上越轨，占他弟兄的便宜；因为这一类的事，主必报应，正如我预先对你们说过，又切切警告过你们的。

连你们的父母、兄弟、亲族、朋友也要把你们交给官府；你们中间也将有被他们害死的。

所以，你们要除去一切的恶毒，一切诡诈、假善、嫉妒，和一切毁谤的话。要爱慕那纯净的灵奶，像初生的婴孩爱慕奶一样，好使你们藉着它成长，以致得救，

口吐谎言的假证人，并在弟兄间散播纷争的人。

耶和华所恨恶的有六样，他心所憎恶的共有七样：

邪恶在其中，欺压和诡诈不离街市。原来，不是仇敌辱骂我，若是仇敌，还可忍受；也不是恨我的人向我狂妄自大，若是恨我的人，我必躲避他。

你那里有为流人血而毁谤人的，你那里有在山上吃祭物的，在你当中也有行淫乱的，

兄弟要把兄弟、父亲要把儿女置于死地；儿女要起来与父母为敌，害死他们。
