Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has removed the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares.

For death has come up into our windows; it has entered our palaces, cutting off the children from the streets and the young men from the squares.

因此我被耶和華的憤怒充滿，難以忍受。「你要把它倒在街上孩童和成羣的年輕人身上，他們連夫帶妻，年長者與高齡的人都必被擒拿。

所以，耶和華使迦勒底人的王來攻擊他們，在他們聖殿裏用刀殺了他們的壯丁，不憐憫他們的少男少女、老人長者。耶和華把所有的人都交在他手裏。

我耳中聽見耶和華對其餘的人說：「要跟隨他走遍全城去擊殺。你們的眼不要顧惜，也不要可憐他們。要將年老的、年輕的、少女、孩童和婦女，從我的聖所開始全都殺盡，只是不可挨近凡有記號的人。」於是他們從殿前的長老殺起。

死人的叔伯要把屍首抬到屋外焚燒，就問房屋內間的人說：「你那裏還有別人嗎？」他說：「沒有。」又說：「不要作聲，不可提耶和華的名。」看哪，耶和華發命令，把大房子拆成碎片，小屋子裂為小塊。

「人子啊，你要拍掌預言，使這刀三番兩次臨到；這是致人死傷的刀，就是包圍人，使人大受死傷的刀。我設立這恐嚇的刀，攻擊他們一切的城門，為要使他們的心驚慌害怕，許多人因而跌倒。唉！它造得像閃電，磨得尖利，要行殺戮。
