因此永恆主使迦勒底人的王上來攻擊他們，就在他們聖所的殿裏用刀殺了他們的壯丁，不顧惜壯丁或處女、老邁的或衰弱的；永恆主把這一切人都交在迦勒底王手裏。

我聽得到他對其餘的人說：『要跟着他走遍城裏，以行擊殺；你們的眼不可顧惜，你們不要可憐。要將年老的、年壯的、和處女、幼小的和婦女、全都殺掉滅盡，從聖所殺起；但凡有刀字記號的、你們可別觸害着。』於是他們從聖殿面前做長老的人殺起。

死人的親屬、就是為他燒香料的人、把他扶起來；將遺骸搬出房屋外頭時，要問儘內室的人說：『你那裏還有人沒有？』若說：『沒有』；他就說：『別作聲啦！連永恆主耶和華的名也不可提！』因為你看，永恆主一發命令，大房屋就被擊毁、成了碎片，小房屋則被打壞、到四分五裂。

『因此人子啊，你要傳神言；拍掌講話：要再次再三地使這刀，就是刺人致死的刀，刺死大人物的刀，就是在他們四圍的，好使他們都膽戰心驚，許多人在他們各城裏都跌傷了。我已經把殺戮刀發出了；啊哈！這刀造得像閃電；磨得亮亮、以便屠殺。
