你们怎可以说：“我们是智慧人，我们有耶和华的律法”呢？事实上，经学家虚假的笔已把律法变成谎言了。

『你們怎能說：「我們有智慧，永恆主的指教在我們兜裏」呢？其實、你看，經學士虛假之筆舞弄着虛假呢！

爾曹奚曰、我乃智者、耶和華之法律在於我中、然文士虛偽之筆、使法律為虛偽、

奚必自誇為智、得耶和華之律例、繕寫舛謬、盡成偽例。

爾豈可自誇曰、我儕有智慧、主之律法為我所有、作律法徒然矣、繕寫律法徒然矣、

“‘ How can you say,“ We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?

“‘ “How can you people say,‘ We are wise. We have the law of the Lord’? Actually, the teachers of the law have told lies about it. Their pens have not written what is true.

“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.

“‘ How can you say,“ We are wise because we have the word of the Lord,” when your teachers have twisted it by writing lies?

“ How can you claim,‘ We are wise; the law of the LORD is with us’? In fact, the lying pen of scribes has produced falsehood.

“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the Law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.

“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the law of the Lord is with us’? Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood.

How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes hath wrought falsely.

“ How can you claim,‘ We are wise; the law of the Lord is with us’? In fact, the lying pen of scribes has produced falsehood.

How do ye say, We[ are] wise, and the law of the LORD[ is] with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he[ it]; the pen of the scribes[ is] in vain.

How can you say,“ We are wise! We have the law of the LORD”? The truth is, those who teach it have used their writings to make it say what it does not really mean.

“‘ How do you say,“ We are wise, and Yahweh’s law is with us?” But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has worked falsely.

制定不義律例、起草不公法令的人啊，你們有禍了！你們冤枉窮人，奪去我子民中困苦者的權利，擄掠寡婦，搶劫孤兒。

耶穌說：「如果你們是瞎眼的，就沒有罪了。但現在你們自稱看得見，所以你們的罪還在。」

祂挫敗狡猾人的陰謀，使他們無法得逞。祂使智者中了自己的詭計，使奸徒的計謀迅速落空。

祂奪去智者的口才，祂拿走長者的洞見。

他們自以為聰明，其實愚不可及，

他就不必供養父母。』你們這是用傳統來廢掉上帝的誡命。

你們不要自欺。如果你們有人自以為在世上有智慧，他應當變成愚人，好成為真正的智者。因為這世上的智慧在上帝的眼中都是愚昧的，正如聖經上說：「上帝使智者中了自己的詭計。」又說：「主知道智者的思想虛妄。」

子孫是老人的華冠，父母是兒女的榮耀。

祂將自己的話傳於雅各，將自己的律例和法令指示以色列。

我為他寫下千萬條的律法，他卻視若無睹。

你自稱是猶太人，倚仗上帝所賜的律法，自誇與上帝有特別的關係；你受過律法的教導，知道上帝的旨意，能明辨是非；你自信可以做盲人的嚮導、黑暗中的人的光、愚昧人的師傅、小孩子的老師，因為你從律法中得到了知識和真理。那麼，你這教導別人的，為什麼不教導自己呢？你教導人不可偷盜，自己卻偷盜嗎？你告訴他人不可通姦，自己卻通姦嗎？你憎惡偶像，自己卻去偷廟裡的東西嗎？你以律法自誇，自己卻違犯律法羞辱上帝嗎？正如聖經上說：「因你們的緣故，上帝的名在外族人中受到褻瀆！」如果你遵行律法，割禮才有價值；如果你違犯律法，受了割禮也如同未受割禮。如果未受割禮的人遵行律法的教導，他豈不算是受了割禮嗎？身體未受割禮卻遵行律法的人，必審判你這有律法條文、受了割禮卻違犯律法的人。因為徒具外表的猶太人不是真正的猶太人，身體上的割禮也不是真正的割禮。唯有從心裡做猶太人的才是真猶太人，真割禮是藉著聖靈在心裡受的割禮，不在於律法條文。這樣的人得到的稱讚不是從人來的，而是從上帝來的。

愚蠢人若能變得聰明，野驢駒也可生成人樣。
