Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why have the people of Jerusalem turned away from me? Why do they always turn away? They keep on telling lies. They refuse to come back to me.

Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why do these people stay on their self destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.

Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

Why has this people, Jerusalem, Turned away in continual apostasy? They hold on to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lieand so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. They say to the seers,“ See no more visions!” and to the prophets,“ Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions. (niv)

My people are determined to turn from me. Even though they call me God Most High, I will by no means exalt them. (niv)

They went backward and not forward.From the time your ancestors left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.But they did not listen to me or pay attention. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. (niv)
