耶利米啊，你將這番話告訴他們，他們也不會聽；你向他們呼籲，他們也不會回應。

爾將告以斯言、惟彼不聽、爾將呼之、惟彼不應、

上帝告先知曰、爾雖有命、民不聽從、爾雖招徠、民不應命。

爾耶利米以此言告之、彼仍不聽爾、爾招之來、彼仍不應爾、

“ When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.

“ Jeremiah, when you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not answer.

“ So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

“ Tell them all this, but do not expect them to listen. Shout out your warnings, but do not expect them to respond.

“ Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

And thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

“ When you speak all these things to them, they will not listen to you. When you call to them, they will not answer you.

Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

Then the LORD said to me,“ When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you. When you call out to them, they will not respond to you.

“ You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.

「這是耶和華說的，『你要站在我殿的院子裡，把我吩咐你的話一字不漏地告訴從猶大各城前來敬拜的人。

耶和華卻說：「不要說你太年輕，我派你去誰那裡，你就去誰那裡；我吩咐你說什麼，你就說什麼。

祂說，『我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。

我要使你們註定被殺，喪身刀下。因為我呼喚你們，你們不回應；我講話，你們不聆聽。你們做我視為惡的事，專行令我不悅的事。」

為什麼我來的時候一個人也不在？為什麼我呼喚的時候沒有人回答？是我的臂膀太短不能救贖你們嗎？是我沒有能力拯救你們嗎？看啊，我斥責一聲，海就乾了；我使江河變為曠野，魚類因無水而乾死，發出腥臭。

祂說：「你去告訴以色列人，『你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；看了又看，卻不領悟。』要讓這些人心靈麻木，耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回心轉意，就得到醫治。」

我派你到那些頑固不化的人那裡，向他們宣告，『主耶和華這樣說。』不管那群叛逆的人聽不聽，他們都會知道有一位先知在他們當中。人子啊，不要怕他們和他們的話，雖然你周圍佈滿荊棘和毒蠍，也不要害怕。他們是一群叛逆的人，你不要怕他們的話，也不要因為他們的臉色而驚慌。他們是叛逆的，不論他們聽不聽，你都要把我的話告訴他們。

「人子啊，我立你做以色列人的守望者，你要把我告誡他們的話告訴他們。當我說某個惡人必滅亡時，如果你不告誡他，勸告他痛改前非，挽救他的性命，他必死在自己的罪中，而我要追究你的責任。

因為上帝的整個計劃，我沒有向你們避而不宣。

祂又對我說：「人子啊，現在你要到以色列人那裡，把我的話傳給他們。你不是奉命去語言不通的民族那裡，而是到以色列人當中。我不是派你到那些語言陌生、難懂、你聽不明白的民族中。我若果真派你到他們那裡，他們一定會聽你的話。然而以色列人卻不肯聽從你，因為他們頑固不化，不肯聽從我。不過，我要使你的臉像他們的臉一樣硬，使你的額像他們的額一樣硬。我要使你的額比火石更硬，如同金剛石。他們雖然是一群叛逆的人，你不要害怕，也不要因為他們的臉色而驚慌。」祂又說：「人子啊，你要留心聽我說的一切話，牢記在心。你要到你那些被擄的同胞那裡，不論他們聽不聽，你都要向他們宣告，『主耶和華這樣說。』」

他們必攻擊你，但絕不能勝過你，因為我與你同在，我必拯救你。這是耶和華說的。」
