Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

耶和華曰、我將置窒礙於民前、使父子同蹶、鄰友皆亡、○

主如是云、我將置窒礙於斯民前、使父子同蹶、友朋同亡、

Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ I will put obstacles before this people. Parents and children alike will stumble over them; neighbors and friends will perish.”

So the Lord says,“ I will bring an army against the people of Judah. Parents and children alike will trip and fall. Neighbors and friends will die.”

Therefore thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will lay before this people stumbling blocks against which they shall stumble; fathers and sons together, neighbor and friend shall perish.’”

Therefore, this is what the Lord says:“ I will put obstacles in my people’s path. Fathers and sons will both fall over them. Neighbors and friends will die together.”

Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I am going to place stumbling blocks before these people; fathers and sons together will stumble over them; friends and neighbors will also perish.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am placing stumbling blocks before this people. And they will stumble against them, Fathers and sons together; Neighbor and friend will perish.”

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people, And the fathers and the sons together shall fall on them. The neighbor and his friend shall perish.”

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will lay stumbling- blocks before this people; and the fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am going to place stumbling blocks before these people; fathers and sons together will stumble over them; friends and neighbors will also perish.

So, this is what the LORD says:‘ I will assuredly make these people stumble to their doom. Parents and children will stumble and fall to their destruction. Friends and neighbors will die.’

Therefore Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbor and his friend will perish.”

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Again, When a righteous[ man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death,[ and] make[ it] gross darkness.

Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.The ancient and honourable, he[ is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he[ is] the tail.For the leaders of this people cause[ them] to err; and[ they that are] led of them[ are] destroyed.Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one[ is] an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand[ is] stretched out still.

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.

And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave[ them] all into his hand.

Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit,[ and] children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain[ them] in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed,[ and] not pitied.Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence,[ even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:Slay utterly old[ and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom[ is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which[ were] before the house.And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried;[ but] they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD,[ even] lovingkindness and mercies.Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall[ men] lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:Neither shall[ men] tear[ themselves] for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall[ men] give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.

Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their[ blood] by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and[ be] widows; and let their men be put to death;[ let] their young men[ be] slain by the sword in battle.

And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as[ are] for death, to death; and such as[ are] for the sword, to the sword; and such as[ are] for the famine, to the famine; and such as[ are] for the captivity, to the captivity.And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for[ that] which he did in Jerusalem.For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave[ them] of children, I will destroy my people,[ since] they return not from their ways.Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused[ him] to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while[ it was] yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

For death is come up into our windows,[ and] is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without,[ and] the young men from the streets.Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather[ them].
