To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.

Who can I speak to? Who can I warn? Who will even listen to me? Their ears are closed so they can’t hear. The Lord’ s message displeases them. They don’t take any delight in it.

To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, they cannot listen; behold, the word of the Lord is to them an object of scorn; they take no pleasure in it.

To whom can I give warning? Who will listen when I speak? Their ears are closed, and they cannot hear. They scorn the word of the Lord. They don’t want to listen at all.

Who can I speak to and give such a warning that they will listen? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, so they cannot pay attention. See, the word of the LORD has become contemptible to them— they find no pleasure in it.

To whom shall I speak and give warning, That they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, And they cannot give heed. Behold, the word of the Lord is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.

To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is become unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

Who can I speak to and give such a warning that they will listen? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, so they cannot pay attention. See, the word of the Lord has become contemptible to them— they find no pleasure in it.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear[ is] uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

I answered,“ Who would listen if I spoke to them and warned them? Their ears are so closed that they cannot hear! Indeed, what the LORD says is offensive to them. They do not like it at all.

To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, Yahweh’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.

“ You men who are stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did.

Yet they did not listen to Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck; they did more evil than their fathers.

But Moses spoke before the Lord, saying,“ Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, as I am unskilled in speech?”

Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

I long for Your salvation, Lord, And Your Law is my delight.

Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying,“ Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is unable to endure all his words.

But if you on your part warn a wicked person to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die for his wrongdoing, but you have saved your life.

“ To whom would He teach knowledge, And to whom would He interpret the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just taken from the breast?For He says,‘ Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there.’ ”Indeed, He will speak to this people Through stammering lips and a foreign tongue,He who said to them,“ This is the place of quiet, give rest to the weary,” And,“ This is the resting place,” but they would not listen.So the word of the Lord to them will be,“ Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,” That they may go and stumble backward, be broken, snared, and taken captive.

Yet the Lord, the God of their fathers, sent word to them again and again by His messengers, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place;but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against His people, until there was no remedy.

One of the lawyers* said to Him in reply,“ Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us too.”

For I joyfully agree with the law of God in the inner person,

For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires,

I shall delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. Gimel

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ.

I delight to do Your will, my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

Then I said,“ They are only the poor, They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord Or the judgment of their God.I will go to the great And speak to them, For they know the way of the Lord And the judgment of their God.” But together they too have broken the yoke And burst the restraints.

When I say to the wicked,‘ You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked person shall die for wrongdoing, but his blood I will require from your hand.However if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die for wrongdoing, but you have saved yourself.Again, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand.However, if you have warned the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.”

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on listening, but do not understand; And keep on looking, but do not gain knowledge.’Make the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes blind, So that they will not see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.”

Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord And remove the foreskins of your hearts, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Or else My wrath will spread like fire And burn with no one to quench it, Because of the evil of your deeds.”

But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, And on His Law he meditates day and night.

May Your compassion come to me so that I may live, For Your Law is my delight.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil.

Their heart is insensitive, like fat, But I delight in Your Law.

Those who were with Him from the Pharisees heard these things and said to Him,“ We are not blind too, are we?”

Who among you will listen to this? Who will pay attention and listen in the time to come?Who gave Jacob up for spoils, and Israel to plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, And in whose ways they were not willing to walk, And whose Law they did not obey?So He poured out on him the heat of His anger And the fierceness of battle; And it set him aflame all around, Yet he did not recognize it; And it burned him, but he paid no attention.

Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
