For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her.

I will punish the gods of Babylon. That time will certainly come. Then the whole land will be full of shame. Its people will lie down and die there.

“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

For the time is surely coming when I will punish this great city and all her idols. Her whole land will be disgraced, and her dead will lie in the streets.

彼勒叩拜，尼波屈身；巴比伦的偶像驮在走兽和牲畜背上。你们所抬的成了重驮，使牲畜疲乏。这些神明一同屈身叩拜，不能救自己，反倒遭人掳去。

看哪，有一对一对骑着马的军队前来。他就回应说：“巴比伦倾倒了！倾倒了！他把巴比伦神明的一切雕刻偶像都打碎在地上了。”

有刀剑临到迦勒底人和巴比伦的居民，临到它的领袖与智慧人。这是耶和华说的。有刀剑临到矜夸的人，他们就变为愚昧；有刀剑临到它的勇士，他们就惊惶。有刀剑临到它的马匹、战车，和其中混居的各族，他们变成与妇女一样；有刀剑临到它的宝物，宝物就被抢夺。有干旱临到它的众水，它们就必干涸；因为这是雕刻偶像之地，人因偶像颠狂。所以野兽和土狼必住在那里，鸵鸟也住在其中，永远无人居住，世世代代无人定居。巴比伦要像神所倾覆的所多玛、蛾摩拉和邻近的城镇一样，必无人住在那里，也无人在其中寄居。这是耶和华说的。

它们都是虚无的，是迷惑人的东西，到它们受罚的时刻必被除灭。

七十年满了以后，我必惩罚巴比伦王和那国，并迦勒底人之地，因他们的罪孽使那地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

我必在你们眼前报复巴比伦人和迦勒底居民在锡安所做的一切恶事。这是耶和华说的。

耶和华立你自己所教导的盟友，立他们为头来辖制你，你还有什么话可说呢？痛苦岂不将你抓住像临产的妇人吗？

它的城镇变废墟，地变干旱，成为沙漠，成为无人居住、无人经过之地。

所以万军之耶和华如此说：看哪，我必惩罚他们；他们的壮丁必被刀剑杀死，他们的儿女必因饥荒而死，

你们的母亲极其抱愧，生你们的必然蒙羞。看哪，她要列在诸国之末，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠；因耶和华的愤怒，巴比伦必无人居住，全然荒凉，凡经过的都要受惊骇，又因它所遭的灾殃嗤笑。所有拉弓的啊，要在巴比伦的四围摆阵，射箭攻击它，不用爱惜箭枝，因为它得罪了耶和华。要在它四围呐喊：“它已经投降，堡垒坍塌了，城墙拆毁了！”这是耶和华所报的仇。你们要向它报仇；它怎样待人，你们也要怎样待它。你们要将巴比伦撒种的和收割时拿镰刀的全都剪除。他们各人因躲避欺压的刀剑，必归回本族，逃到本土。

凡说“耶和华的默示”的，无论是先知、是祭司、是百姓，我必惩罚那人和他的家。
