錫安民曰、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒噬我毀我、棄我如空器、吞我如鱷魚、以我珍饈果腹、驅我而出、彼虐遇我、暨我骨肉、願罪歸巴比倫、耶路撒冷民曰、彼流我血、願罪歸迦勒底居民、

郇邑及耶路撒冷民曰、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、噬予滅予、使我為虛器、吞我若蛇、飫我肥甘、逐我遠去、彼虐遇予、殺予戚屬、罪必歸巴比倫、及迦勒底民。

“ Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has devoured us, he has thrown us into confusion, he has made us an empty jar. Like a serpent he has swallowed us and filled his stomach with our delicacies, and then has spewed us out.

The people of Jerusalem say,“ Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has destroyed us. He has thrown us into a panic. He has emptied us out like a jar. Like a snake he has swallowed us up. He has filled his stomach with our rich food. Then he has spit us out of his mouth.”

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel; he has swallowed me like a monster; he has filled his stomach with my delicacies; he has rinsed me out.

“ King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has eaten and crushed us and drained us of strength. He has swallowed us like a great monster and filled his belly with our riches. He has thrown us out of our own country.

“ King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me. He has set me aside like an empty dish; he has swallowed me like a sea monster; he filled his belly with my delicacies; he has vomited me out.

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, He has set me down like an empty vessel; He has swallowed me like a monster, He has filled his stomach with my delicacies; He has washed me away.

“ Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has devoured me; he has crushed me. He has set me aside like an empty dish; he has swallowed me like a sea monster; he filled his belly with my delicacies; he has vomited me out,”

Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.

“ King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon devoured me and drove my people out. Like a monster from the deep he swallowed me. He filled his belly with my riches. He made me an empty dish. He completely cleaned me out.”

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me. He has crushed me. He has made me an empty vessel. He has, like a monster, swallowed me up. He has filled his mouth with my delicacies. He has cast me out.

以色列是打散的羊，被獅子趕散。首先是亞述王將他吞滅，末後是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒折斷他的骨頭。

我要懲罰巴比倫的彼勒，使它吐出所吞之物。列國必不再流歸到它那裏，巴比倫的城牆也必坍塌。

他吞了財寶，還要吐出；神要從他腹中掏出來。

看哪，耶和華使地空虛，變為荒蕪，地面扭曲，居民四散。那時，百姓如何，祭司也如何；僕人如何，主人也如何；婢女如何，主母也如何；買主如何，賣主也如何；放債的如何，借貸的也如何；債主如何，欠債的也如何。地必全然空虛，盡都荒蕪，因為這話是耶和華說的。

你所有的仇敵張口來攻擊你；他們嗤笑，切齒，說：「我們把她吞滅了，這是我們所盼望的日子！我們終於等到了，親眼看見了！」

「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們當着人的面把天國的門關了，自己不進去，要進去的人，你們也不容他們進去。

所以你要預言，說：主耶和華如此說：因為敵人使你荒涼，四圍踐踏你，要叫你歸其餘的列國為業，使你們成為各族的話柄與百姓的笑談；

你們這些踐踏貧窮人、使這地困苦人衰敗的，當聽這話！

耶和華復興雅各的榮華，像復興以色列的榮華；因為蹂躪者曾經蹂躪他們，毀壞了他們的葡萄枝。

他用手綁我罪過的軛，捲繞着加在我頸項上；他使我力量衰敗。主將我交在我不能抵擋的人手中。主棄絕我們當中所有的勇士，聚集會眾攻擊我，要壓碎我的年輕人。主踹下少女猶大，在醡酒池中。

你們搶奪金子吧！你們搶奪銀子吧！因為所積蓄的無窮，華美的寶器無數。荒蕪，荒涼，全然荒廢，人心害怕，雙膝顫抖，腰部疼痛，臉都變色。

巴比倫要因以色列被殺的人而仆倒，正如全地被刺殺的人是因巴比倫仆倒一般。

我們好像陰間，把他們活活吞下，囫圇吞下，如吞下那下到地府的人；

唉！先前人口稠密的城市，現在為何獨坐！先前在列國中為大的，現在竟如寡婦！先前在各省中為王后的，現在竟成為服苦役的人！

摩押自幼年以來常享安逸，如沉澱未被攪動的酒，沒有從這器皿倒在那器皿，也未曾被擄掠過。因此，它的原味尚存，香氣未變。看哪，日子將到，我必差倒酒的到它那裏去，將它倒出來；他們要倒空器皿，打碎罈子。這是耶和華說的。

凡遇見他們的，就把他們吞滅。敵人說：「我們不算有罪；因他們得罪了那可作真正居所的耶和華，就是他們祖先所仰望的耶和華。」

鵜鶘、豪豬要得它為業，貓頭鷹、烏鴉要住在其間。耶和華必將空虛的準繩、混沌的石垂線，拉在以東之上。

猶大王西底家第九年十月，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒率領全軍前來圍困耶路撒冷。西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。耶路撒冷被攻下的時候，巴比倫王的眾官長，尼甲‧沙利薛、三甲‧尼波、撒西金將軍、尼甲‧沙利薛將軍，並巴比倫王其餘的官長都來坐在中門。猶大王西底家和所有士兵看見他們，就在夜間從靠近王的花園、兩城牆中間的門逃跑出城，往亞拉巴逃去。迦勒底的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，將他逮住，帶到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就判他的罪。在利比拉，巴比倫王在西底家眼前殺了他的兒女；巴比倫王又殺了猶大所有的貴族，並且挖了西底家的眼睛，用銅鏈鎖住他，要帶到巴比倫去。迦勒底人用火焚燒王宮和百姓的房屋，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆。
