“ A sword against the Babylonians!” declares the Lord—“ against those who live in Babylon and against her officials and wise men!

“ A sword is coming against the Babylonians!” announces the Lord.“ It is coming against those who live in Babylon. It is coming against their officials and wise men.

“ A sword against the Chaldeans, declares the Lord, and against the inhabitants of Babylon, and against her officials and her wise men!

“ The sword of destruction will strike the Babylonians,” says the Lord.“ It will strike the people of Babylon— her officials and wise men, too.

A sword is over the Chaldeans— this is the LORD’s declaration— against those who live in Babylon, against her officials, and against her sages.

A sword against the Chaldeans,” declares the Lord,“ And against the inhabitants of Babylon And against her leaders and her wise men!

“ A sword is against the Chaldeans,” says the Lord,“ Against the inhabitants of Babylon, And against her princes and her wise men.

A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith Jehovah, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

A sword is over the Chaldeans— this is the Lord’s declaration— against those who live in Babylon, against her officials, and against her sages.

耶和華之劍、何時入鞘、鋒藏不試。

彼謀不軌、城邑必破於鋒刃、牧伯必遭乎翦滅、

是夕迦勒底王伯沙撒、為敵所殺、

大聲召諸博士、太史、卜師、巴比倫哲士咸至、王告之曰、有能讀斯文字、解其義者、身衣緋衣、項繫金索、為國之相、職居其三、哲士入、文字不能識、奧義不能明、

萬有之主耶和華曰、我將使其牧伯哲士、齒長之儒、有能之輩、嗜酒酩酊、忽致長眠、永不得醒。

伯沙撒王、肆筵設席、召有爵位者千人、咸赴王讌、與眾同飲、進酒時、命取金銀器皿、乃王之祖尼布甲尼撒得之於耶路撒冷上帝殿者、遂取之至、王公后妃以之飲酒、

耶和華曰、當是時、壯者偃於逵衢、武士俱亡。

我使義人崛興、自北而至、亦在日出之鄉、以籲我名、糜爛牧伯、如匠人之擣土、如陶人之躪泥、

爾惟憶兆之大君、盡人當敬、孰不畏爾、列國諸聖者、不得與爾頡頏。

智者迷惑愧恥、不勝憂疑、棄耶和華之道、鳥得為智。

耶和華諭我曰、

蓋我耶和華降罰億兆、使蹈鋒刃、罹火災、殺戮者不可勝數、

鎖安之牧伯、法老之謀士、忽為愚懵、焉能告法老曰、我乃先賢之後、前王之裔哉。萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、降災埃及、若爾有賢人、必能知之、知之必能告爾。鎖安之牧伯為愚、挪弗之君長見惑、支派之宗、使之迷途、

惟彼庸牧、遠離群羊、禍將及矣、其手其目、為刃所擊、其手廢矣、其目盲矣。

卜筮之輩、設兆惑人、我使其言不驗、彼自矜巧慧、反形愚拙、我使之然。

為爾背約、故以鋒刃擊爾、洩我忿怒。爾若集於邑垣、我必使疫癘流行、付爾於敵。

爾謀夫孔多、有人仰觀天象、占察星辰、每值月朔、以卜未來、以定吉凶、使其咸興、庶可救爾。豈知彼乃草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救、皆為灰燼、不見微炭、不餘爝火、俾人溫暖。

故我必行異跡於民間、神妙莫測、智者窒其慧、明者塞其聰、

殺壯士若屠牛、降災之日既至、其禍不遠、我上帝耶和華為殿宇雪忿、人自巴比倫逃於郇邑、備述斯事、咸聞其語。
