今巴比倫抱愧、大邑含羞、其地終為邱墟、有若沙漠。

爾母恥甚、生爾者含羞、列國結局、終必荒蕪、為旱乾之地、成為沙漠、

your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations— a wilderness, a dry land, a desert.

Because of that, you will bring great shame on your land. Your whole nation will be dishonored. It will become the least important of the nations. It will become a dry and empty desert.

其邑荒蕪、成為燥土沙漠、無人居處之地、世人不經歷之、

惟在上之耶路撒冷乃自由、我眾之母也、

有大力之使者、舉石如大磨、投之於海、曰、巴比倫大邑、將如此猛然被投、不復見矣、鼓琴奏樂品簫吹角之聲、不復聞於爾間、百工不復見於爾間、磨聲不復聞於爾間、燈光不復照於爾間、新郎新婦之聲、不復聞於爾間、蓋爾諸商素為世之尊者、萬國亦以爾巫術而受惑矣、

額書厥名曰奧秘、大巴比倫、地上諸妓諸穢惡之母、

耶和華曰、肅殺之山、毀滅全地者歟、我必敵爾、伸手擊爾、使爾自巖軫轉而下、成為焚燬之山、人不取爾石為屋隅、為基址、爾必永為荒蕪、耶和華言之矣、

北方遠近諸王、爰及天下萬國、厥後、示沙克王亦飲焉、

且曰、耶和華歟、爾言必滅斯土、使無居民、人畜俱泯、永為荒蕪、誦書既竟、則繫書於石、投諸伯拉河中、曰、巴比倫因耶和華所降之災、必如是沈淪、不得復起、其力憊矣、耶利米之言、至是而止、

永無人跡、代無居民、在此、亞拉伯人不張其幕、牧者不臥其羊、野獸伏於斯、鴟鴞盈其室、鴕鳥棲止於斯、野羊踴躍於斯、豺狼嗥於第宅、野犬鳴於華宮、其時伊邇、其日不延、

試觀迦勒底地、無有居民、亞述人使為野獸之所、建築戍樓、毀其宮室、使為邱墟、

萬軍之耶和華曰、我將起而攻之、滅絕巴比倫之名、與其遺民、及其子孫、耶和華言之矣、

七十年既竟、我必罰巴比倫王與其國、及迦勒底人之地、使之永久荒蕪、以治其罪、耶和華言之矣、

故耶和華曰、時日將至、我必使戰鬥之警、聞於亞捫人之拉巴、俾其成為邱墟、屬邑為火所焚、其時以色列、必據昔據以色列者、耶和華言之矣、

耶和華曰、刃臨於迦勒底人、與巴比倫居民、及其牧伯哲士、刃臨於矜誇者、使為愚蠢、刃臨於其武士、使之驚惶、刃臨於其馬與車、暨其中雜族、使若婦女、刃臨於其貨財、使遭攘奪、旱及於諸水、使之盡涸、因其為雕像之境也、彼眾若狂以奉偶像、故野獸與豺狼、必居於彼、鴕鳥亦處其間、永為荒墟、歷世無人居處、耶和華曰、必如所多瑪蛾摩拉、及其鄰邑之傾覆、無人居處、世人不寓其中、
