先知為風、道不在於其中、彼之所言、必及己身、

先知有言、災必及民、民謂其言虛誕若風、未嘗奉命於上。

先知所言、非由神感、必顯為空虛若風、彼所遭遇者若此、

The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them.”

The prophets are nothing but wind. Their message doesn’t come from the Lord. So let what they say will happen be done to them.”

God’s prophets are all windbags who don’t really speak for him. Let their predictions of disaster fall on themselves!’”

因此，耶和华这样说：“关于那些借我名说预言的先知，我并没有差遣他们，他们竟说：‘这地必不会有刀剑和饥荒。’那些先知必被刀剑和饥荒灭绝。

“这些话你要说到几时，你口中的言语像狂风到几时呢？

我就说：“唉，主耶和华啊！你看，那些先知常对他们说：‘你们必不会看见刀剑，也必不会有饥荒；因为我耶和华要在这地方赐给你们恒久的平安。’”

他们说：“来吧！我们来设计对付耶利米；因为祭司的律法、智慧人的谋略、先知的话都不会断绝。来吧！我们用舌头攻击他，不理会他的一切话。”

绝望人的话不过是风，你们还想批判吗？

因为我每次发言，都大声呼叫；我呼喊，说：“有强暴和毁灭！”耶和华的话使我整天受人辱骂和讥讽。如果我说：“我不再提起他，也不再奉他的名说话”，他的话就像火在我心中焚烧，被困在我的骨里；我不能再抑制，实在不能了。我听见许多人耳语：“玛歌珥．米撒毕！告发他，我们要告发他！”我所有的知己朋友都等着看我行差踏错，他们说：“希望他会上当，我们就可以胜过他，向他报复。”但耶和华与我同在，像一个威武可畏的勇士，因此，逼迫我的都必跌倒，不能得胜。他们必大大蒙羞，因为他们失败了；这永远的耻辱是人不能忘记的。

在两年之内，我必把耶和华殿中的一切器皿，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒从这地方掠到巴比伦去的，都带回这地方。

惩罚的日子临近，报应的时候来到，以色列必定知道，因着你们众多的罪孽和深仇大恨，先知被看为愚昧，受灵感动的人被当作疯子。
