Mourn for her, all who live around her, all who know her fame; say,‘ How broken is the mighty scepter, how broken the glorious staff!’

All you who live around it, mourn for its people. Be sad, you who know how famous Moab is. Say,‘ Its powerful ruler’s scepter is broken! His glorious scepter is smashed.’

Grieve for him, all you who are around him, and all who know his name; say,‘ How the mighty scepter is broken, the glorious staff.’

You friends of Moab, weep for him and cry! See how the strong scepter is broken, how the beautiful staff is shattered!

Mourn for him, all you surrounding nations, everyone who knows his name. Say,“ How the mighty scepter is shattered, the glorious staff!”

昔米田人虐遇斯民、負以重軛、加以鞭扑、爾拯救之、折其杖箠、迄於今、亦若是、

我震怒斯民、使亞述人、為杖箠以擊之、亞述人亦有禍矣、

希實本之田、實馬之葡萄園、俱變荒蕪、昔其嘉種、延及牙設、藤至曠野、蔓及鹽海、今為列國之牧伯所毀、

昔我有杖、厥名恩寵、今折斯杖、為毀民約之徵、當斯時也、斯杖已折、從我之羊、已遭困苦、則知所言確然、耶和華之命不虛、我曰、如合爾意、給我以值、否則已矣、於是權三十金畀我、以為我值。耶和華告我曰、爾傭於人、其價何廉、委之於陶人可也、我遂取三十金、擲於耶和華殿、以為陶人所得。我又有杖、厥名維繫、我遂折之、為猶大以色列二族絕交之徵。

向所嗜果實安在、珍奇華彩無存、不可復得、諸商旅因以富饒、懼害及身、遙立哀哭云、大邑素衣細布紫絳、飾金玉珠璣、頃刻間、富有遂至貧乏、嗚呼哀哉、各舟長舟子、與附載之人、及航海商旅遙立、見厥火炎炎、呼曰、誰能與大邑比儗乎、以塵埃蒙首、哀哭呼曰、大邑以厥珍寶、使操舟於海者富裕、頃刻間、已至貧乏、嗚呼哀哉、天歟、聖使徒及先知、可欣喜、以巴比倫罪爾、而上帝亦罪巴比倫故也、

故我必為摩押邑號呼哭泣、為吉哈喇泄人哀聲甚慘。實馬之葡萄、延及雅設、至於鹽海、殘賊者流、奪爾葡萄、攘爾夏果、我效雅設人哭泣不已。昔在摩押良田、人咸欣喜、維踐酒醡、人常懽呼、今酒已竭、欣喜懽呼之聲、俱不復聞、

株幹堅強、堪作長者之杖、可謂枝繁幹偉矣。忽拔其根、擲之於地、其果為東風所暴、枝幹摧折、遂致枯槁、焚之以火、乃移其根、植於無水之野、枝葉為火焦灼、燬其果實、無堅強之株幹、可謂長者之杖、此則大可憫焉。

萬有之主耶和華曰、遍訪慧女、能謳哀歌、招之至此、使其速至、為我舉哀、使我目擊心傷、淚如泉湧。在郇邑聞彼哀歌曰、我見虜、離故土、我室已毀、不能容膝、含羞蒙垢。先知曰、維爾眾女、耶和華之言、宜傾耳以聽焉、當令爾女舉哀、鄰里哭泣。

人將哭云、摩押已毀、敗北而抱愧、四周之人、譏笑而恐懼。
