耶和華之刃歟、爾將何時休息、其入於鞘、安然不動、

耶和華之劍、何時入鞘、鋒藏不試。

主之劍乎、爾行戮不息、何時方止、當入於鞘、安靖不動、

“‘ Alas, sword of the Lord, how long till you rest? Return to your sheath; cease and be still.’

“‘ Sword of the Lord!’ you cry out.‘ How long will it be until you rest? Return to the place you came from. Stop killing us! Be still!’

Ah, sword of the Lord! How long till you are quiet? Put yourself into your scabbard; rest and be still!

“ Now, O sword of the Lord, when will you be at rest again? Go back into your sheath; rest and be still.

Oh, sword of the LORD! How long will you be restless? Go back to your sheath; be still; be silent!

Ah, sword of the Lord, How long will you not be quiet? Withdraw into your sheath; Rest and stay still.

“ O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!

O thou sword of Jehovah, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard; rest, and be still.

Oh, sword of the Lord! How long will you be restless? Go back to your sheath; be still; be silent!

“‘ You sword of Yahweh, how long will it be before you are quiet? Put yourself back into your scabbard; rest, and be still.’

對以色列地說，耶和華如此說：我與你為敵，並要拔刀出鞘，從你中間將義人和惡人一併剪除。我既要從你中間剪除義人和惡人，所以我的刀要出鞘，自南至北攻擊一切有血氣的；一切有血氣的就知道我－耶和華已經拔刀出鞘，必不再入鞘。

滅命的都來到曠野中一切淨光的高處；耶和華的刀從地這邊直到地那邊盡行殺滅。凡有血氣的都不得平安。

你將刀收入鞘吧！在你受造之處、生長之地，我必刑罰你。

耶穌就對彼得說：「收刀入鞘吧，我父所給我的那杯，我豈可不喝呢？」

「你要對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：你們要喝，且要喝醉，要嘔吐，且要跌倒，不得再起來，都因我使刀劍臨到你們中間。』

耶和華啊，求你起來，前去迎敵，將他打倒！用你的刀救護我命脫離惡人。

我若磨我閃亮的刀，手掌審判之權，就必報復我的敵人，報應恨我的人。我要使我的箭飲血飲醉，就是被殺被擄之人的血。我的刀要吃肉，乃是仇敵中首領之頭的肉。

或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：刀劍哪，要經過那地，以致我將人與牲畜從其中剪除；

你是我爭戰的斧子和打仗的兵器；我要用你打碎列國，用你毀滅列邦；用你打碎馬和騎馬的；用你打碎戰車和坐在其上的；用你打碎男人和女人；用你打碎老年人和少年人；用你打碎壯丁和處女；用你打碎牧人和他的羣畜；用你打碎農夫和他一對牛；用你打碎省長和副省長。

耶和華吩咐使者，他就收刀入鞘。

這地悲哀，通國的青草枯乾，要到幾時呢？因其上居民的惡行，牲畜和飛鳥都滅絕了。他們曾說：他看不見我們的結局。

押尼珥呼叫約押說：「刀劍豈可永遠殺人嗎？你豈不知終久必有苦楚嗎？你要等何時才叫百姓回去、不追趕弟兄呢？」

亞述是我怒氣的棍，手中拿我惱恨的杖。

我看見大旗，聽見角聲，要到幾時呢？

斧豈可向用斧砍木的自誇呢？鋸豈可向用鋸的自大呢？好比棍掄起那舉棍的，好比杖舉起那非木的人。

耶和華說：「我命定四樣害他們，就是刀劍殺戮、狗類撕裂、空中的飛鳥，和地上的野獸吞吃毀滅；
