Gaza will shave her head in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. You remnant on the plain, how long will you cut yourselves?

The people of Gaza will be so sad they will shave their heads. And Ashkelon’s people will be silent. You who remain on the plain, how long will you cut yourselves?

Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has perished. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourselves?

Gaza will be humiliated, its head shaved bald; Ashkelon will lie silent. You remnant from the Mediterranean coast, how long will you cut yourselves in mourning?

彼鬚髮盡薙、指掌毀傷、腰束麻帶。

及烏士、非利士、亞實基倫、迦薩、以革倫國王亞實突遺民、

詰旦有八十人、自示僉、示羅、撒馬利亞、而至、薙鬢裂衣、自毀其身、攜香品禮物、欲詣耶和華殿遺址。

猶大地乎、爾之愛子、為人俘囚、故當去爾髮、童爾首、與神鷹無異。

故我耶和華必擊非利士人、殺基利族、海濱居民、殲滅殆盡、

勿為死者割肉、勿黥爾身、為我耶和華所禁。

亞實基倫見之而懼、迦薩懷憂特甚、以革倫所望已絕、抱愧殊深、迦薩之王必亡、亞實基倫邑無人居處、遠方之人、將為王於亞實突、我必去非利士人之驕心。使口不飲牲血、齒不嚙污物、遠方之人、歸誠於我上帝、我視之若猶大牧伯、亦視以革倫民若耶布士人、

耶和華告予曰、

摩押人登巴益、底本崇邱、哭泣不勝、鬚髮盡薙、為尼破、米底巴之遭難、號呼靡已、

遂大聲呼籲、以刃以匕自割其肉、迨及血流、循其常例。

勿髠髮、勿薙鬚之四周、勿割肉。

迦薩必荒蕪、亞實基倫必傾圯、亞實突人當亭午之時、必遭驅逐、以革倫人必拔其根株、爾海濱居民、其哩人、耶和華有言、禍將及矣、爾迦南乃非利士人地、我必加殲滅、靡有孑遺、瀕海之區、俱為牧場、所有者。不過牧人之井、群羊之牢而巳、適值耶和華上帝、眷顧猶大遺民、返其俘囚、使彼牧羊海濱、暮則驅群羊、卧於亞實基倫家、

耶和華又曰、迦薩人犯罪、至三至四、且虜民甚眾、鬻於以東、我必罰其罪、火焚迦薩城垣、燬其宮殿。又曰、我必滅亞實突之居民、絕亞實基倫之執政、降罰於以革倫、使非利士人淪胥以亡。

以麻束腰、盡薙首髮、蒙羞抱愧、戰慄之至。

非利士人、鴿托遺民、推羅、西頓、所賴以得助者、耶和華敗之、絶其所恃、其日將至、

爾皆係爾上帝耶和華之子、毋為死者薙髮割肉、

猶大取迦薩與其郊、亞實基倫與其郊、以革倫與其郊。

日夜恆在塚與山、呼號、以石自傷、

法老未伐迦薩時、先知耶利米奉耶和華命、告以非利士人之事。
