Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and them that dwell therein; and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

『永恆主這麼說：看吧，有水從北方湧起，成為氾濫的溪河；諸水必氾濫、漫過遍地和其中所有的，以及眾城市和住於其中的居民；人必哀呼喊叫，境內居民都必哀號。

耶和華云、有水自北方湧出、將成汎濫之河、淹沒斯土、與其所有、及厥城邑居民、眾皆哀哭、境內諸民號咷、

耶和華曰、大河自北至、勢若洪濤、泛濫斯土、諸邑民人、盡遭淹沒、號呼哭泣不已。

主如是云、水自北至、成為漲溢之河、泛濫斯地、淹沒其上所有、淹沒城邑與其居民、人俱號呼、居民哀哭、

This is what the Lord says:“ See how the waters are rising in the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and everything in it, the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out; all who dwell in the land will wail

The Lord said,“ The armies of Babylon are like waters rising in the north. They will become a great flood. They will flow over the land and everything in it. They will flow over the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out. All those who live in the land will weep.

“ Thus says the Lord: Behold, waters are rising out of the north, and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who dwell in it. Men shall cry out, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.

This is what the Lord says:“ A flood is coming from the north to overflow the land. It will destroy the land and everything in it— cities and people alike. People will scream in terror, and everyone in the land will wail.

“ Look! Enemies are gathering in the north like water rising in a river. They will be like an overflowing stream. They will overwhelm the whole country and everything in it like a flood. They will overwhelm the cities and their inhabitants. People will cry out in alarm. Everyone living in the country will cry out in pain.

Egypt is a very fair heifer; but destruction out of the north is come, it is come.

now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the River, strong and many, even the king of Assyria and all his glory: and it shall come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks;and it shall sweep onward into Judah; it shall overflow and pass through; it shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones the whole land trembleth; for they are come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it; the city and those that dwell therein.

They are gone up to Bayith, and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep: Moab waileth over Nebo, and over Medeba; on all their heads is baldness, every beard is cut off.In their streets they gird themselves with sackcloth; on their housetops, and in their broad places, every one waileth, weeping abundantly.And Heshbon crieth out, and Elealeh; their voice is heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; his soul trembleth within him.My heart crieth out for Moab; her nobles flee unto Zoar, to Eglath- shelishi- yah: for by the ascent of Luhith with weeping they go up; for in the way of Horonaim they raise up a cry of destruction.

Then Jehovah said unto me, Out of the north evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;

For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the wailing thereof unto Eglaim, and the wailing thereof unto Beer- elim.

The earth is Jehovah’s, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.

So shall they fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Jehovah driveth.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

How is it broken down! how do they wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all that are round about him.

The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.For by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping shall they go up; for at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein;

The word that Jehovah spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.

Come now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou art melted away, O Philistia, all of thee; for there cometh a smoke out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience’ sake:

But with an over- running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

And in that day, saith Jehovah, there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.Wail, ye inhabitants of Maktesh; for all the people of Canaan are undone; all they that were laden with silver are cut off.

And the overwhelming forces shall be overwhelmed from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

For the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, is he that toucheth the land and it melteth, and all that dwell therein shall mourn; and it shall rise up wholly like the River, and shall sink again, like the River of Egypt;it is he that buildeth his chambers in the heavens, and hath founded his vault upon the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth; Jehovah is his name.

And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters;

And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding- place.

Therefore said I, Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; labor not to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.For it is a day of discomfiture, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.

for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.

Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen.Who is this that riseth up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?Egypt riseth up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he saith, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and the inhabitants thereof.

The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?
