怎麼啦！我看見他們都驚慌，轉身退後呀！他們的勇士被擊敗了，倉倉皇皇逃跑，並不回頭呀！四圍盡是恐怖！永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我奚見此哉、彼眾驚而卻退、勇士敗潰、急遁不顧其後、四周惶恐、

耶和華曰、我觀其喪膽敗北、四周畏懼、武士戰北、逃遁維速、不顧其後。

主曰、我觀其喪膽退後、勇士潰敗、急於奔逃、並不回顧、四望驚惶、何故也、

What do I see? They are terrified, they are retreating, their warriors are defeated. They flee in haste without looking back, and there is terror on every side,” declares the Lord.

他們的帳棚和羊羣都要奪去，將幔子和一切器皿，並駱駝為自己掠去。人向他們喊着說：四圍都有驚嚇。

你們不要往田野去，也不要行在路上，因四圍有仇敵的刀劍和驚嚇。

其中的雇勇好像圈裏的肥牛犢，他們轉身退後，一齊逃跑，站立不住；因為他們遭難的日子、追討的時候已經臨到。

尼尼微自古以來充滿人民，如同聚水的池子；現在居民卻都逃跑。雖有人呼喊說：站住！站住！卻無人回顧。

我聽見了許多人的讒謗，四圍都是驚嚇；就是我知己的朋友也都窺探我，願我跌倒，說：告他吧，我們也要告他！或者他被引誘，我們就能勝他，在他身上報仇。

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見車馬的聲音，是大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：「這必是以色列王賄買赫人的諸王和埃及人的諸王來攻擊我們。」所以，在黃昏的時候他們起來逃跑，撇下帳棚、馬、驢，營盤照舊，只顧逃命。

你的壯士為何被沖去呢？他們站立不住；因為耶和華驅逐他們，

我在許多國民和君王面前向你掄我的刀，國民就必因你驚奇，君王也必因你極其恐慌。在你仆倒的日子，他們各人為自己的性命時刻戰兢。」

領他們出來以後，就說：「逃命吧！不可回頭看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿滅。」

地上的君王、臣宰、將軍、富戶、壯士，和一切為奴的、自主的，都藏在山洞和巖石穴裏，向山和巖石說：「倒在我們身上吧！把我們藏起來，躲避坐寶座者的面目和羔羊的忿怒；因為他們忿怒的大日到了，誰能站得住呢？」

到那日，埃及人必像婦人一樣，他們必因萬軍之耶和華在埃及以上所掄的手，戰兢懼怕。

次日，巴施戶珥將耶利米開枷釋放。於是耶利米對他說：「耶和華不是叫你的名為巴施戶珥，乃是叫你瑪歌珥‧米撒畢，因耶和華如此說：『我必使你自覺驚嚇，你也必使眾朋友驚嚇；他們必倒在仇敵的刀下，你也必親眼看見；我必將猶大人全交在巴比倫王的手中，他要將他們擄到巴比倫去，也要用刀將他們殺戮。
