But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their wickedness or stop burning incense to other gods.

But my people would not listen or turn back from their wicked ways. They kept on burning incense to these gods.

我知道你頑梗，有鐵一般的頸項，銅一般的額頭。

他們卻掩耳不聽，一意孤行，任意行惡，越來越壞。

他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

我的子民卻不肯聽我的話，以色列不願意順從我。因此我就任憑他們頑固不化，為所欲為。但願我的子民肯聽從我，以色列人肯遵行我的道。

他們卻不理會，背過身去，充耳不聞，心如鐵石，不遵從律法，也不遵從萬軍之耶和華藉著祂的靈指示從前的先知所說的話。因此，萬軍之耶和華非常憤怒。

我曾給她悔改的機會，她卻不肯悔改、離棄自己的淫亂行為，所以我必叫她臥病在床。那些與她有染的人若不悔改，也必遭受極大的苦難。

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿將被玷污，像陀斐特一樣，因為他們在房頂向天上的萬象燒香，向別的神明奠酒。』」

他們重蹈祖先的覆轍，不聽從我的話，跟從、祭拜別的神明。以色列和猶大都違背了我與他們祖先立的約。

真希望你當時肯聽我的命令！那樣，你的平安必像滾滾河水，你的公義必如滔滔海浪；

然而，他們卻不聽不理，人人憑自己頑固的惡念行事。因此，我要使約中的一切咒詛臨到他們，因為我吩咐他們遵守這約，他們卻拒絕遵守。」
