耶和華說：「你們出言譭謗我，還問，『我們怎麼譭謗你了？』你們說，『事奉上帝是虛空的。遵從上帝的吩咐，在萬軍之耶和華面前痛悔有什麼益處？如今我們稱狂傲的人有福，因為作惡的人凡事順利，他們雖然試探上帝，卻仍能逃過災禍。』」

還記得在埃及的時候，我們不花錢就可以吃魚，還有黃瓜、西瓜、韭菜、蔥和蒜。我們現在毫無胃口，眼前除了嗎哪外，什麼都沒有。」

便從各地回到猶大，去米斯巴見基大利。他們儲備了大量的酒和夏天的果子。

他們對上帝說，『離開我們，我們不想學習你的道。全能者是誰，竟要我們事奉祂？向祂禱告有何益處？』

他們褻瀆上天，詆譭大地。上帝的子民也跟隨他們，聽從他們的話。他們說：「上帝怎能知道？至高者會察覺嗎？」看這些惡人，他們總是生活安逸，財富日增。我潔身自愛，保持清白，實屬徒然。我天天遭災，日日受苦。要是我這樣說，我就是背叛了你的子民。
