我們一定要實行我們口中所說出的一切話：向天后燻祭，澆奠祭，按着我們和我們列祖、我們的王和首領在猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上素常所行的一樣；那時我們喫飽飯，享福樂，不見災禍呀。

We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm.

We will certainly do everything we said we would. We’ll burn incense to the female god called the Queen of Heaven. We’ll pour out drink offerings to her. We’ll do just as we and our people of long ago have done. Our kings and our officials also did it. All of us did it in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food. We were well off. We didn’t suffer any harm.

But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.

We will do whatever we want. We will burn incense and pour out liquid offerings to the Queen of Heaven just as much as we like— just as we, and our ancestors, and our kings and officials have always done in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For in those days we had plenty to eat, and we were well off and had no troubles!

Instead, we will do everything we promised: we will burn incense to the queen of heaven and offer drink offerings to her just as we, our ancestors, our kings, and our officials did in Judah’s cities and in Jerusalem’s streets. Then we had enough food, we were well off, and we saw no disaster,

But we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, by burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings, and our leaders did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food and were well off and saw no misfortune.

But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. 兒子們撿柴，父老們燒火，婦女們摶麵作祭餅，獻給天后，又向別的神澆奠祭，以惹我發怒。

我們的王、我們的首領和祭司、以及我們的列祖、都不遵行你的律法，不留心聽從你的誡命法令、你所鄭重警諭他們的。

你嘴裏所說出的、你要謹慎實行，照你向永恆主你的上帝所自動許的願、就是你口中所應許過的而實行。

他們的母親行了淫亂；懷了他們的、行了羞恥事；因為她說：「我要跟着我的愛人；我的餅、我的水、我的羊毛、我的麻、我的油、我喝的酒、都是他們給的。」因此你看，我必用荊棘堵塞她的道兒，我必築牆擋住她，使她找不着路。她必追逐她的愛人，卻追不上；她必尋找他們，卻尋不見；便說：「我要去，回歸我的前夫，因為我那時的光景比如今還好。」她不知道是我給了她五穀、新酒和新油，又增加了金銀給她，她卻用去製造巴力。因此到了收割時候、我必收回我的五穀；到了出酒季節、我必取回我的新酒；我必奪回我的羊毛、我的麻、就是可用來遮其赤體之物。

以色列人對他們說：『巴不得我們在埃及地早死在永恆主手裏；那時我們坐在肉鍋旁邊，喫餅喫到飽飽地，你們竟將我們領出來、到這曠野，要叫這全體大眾都餓死啊！』

萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：你們婦女們都口中說、手裏作成了說：「我們一定要實行我們所許的願：向天后燻祭，澆奠祭」！那麼只管立定你們許的願吧！只管實行你們許的願詞吧！

她丈夫聽見的日子若把這兩樣全廢了，那麼、凡那婦人嘴裏所說出一切關於所許的願、和所約束的話、就不立定：她丈夫既把這兩樣全廢了，永恆主也必赦免她。

他們撇棄了永恆主他們的上帝一切的誡命，竟為自己造了兩個牛犢的鑄像，又造了亞舍拉神木，去敬拜天上的萬象，又事奉巴力。

他女兒對他說：『我父啊，你既向永恆主開了口，就照你親口說出的待我吧！因為永恆主已從你仇敵亞捫人身上為你報仇了。』

『你們和你們列祖、你們的王和首領、以及國中之民、在猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上所燒的燻祭，永恆主哪能不記得，那事哪能不湧上他心頭呢？

耶路撒冷的房屋、和猶大列王的宮殿，就是一切房屋，人在那些房頂上向天上萬象燻祭或向別的神澆奠祭的，都必像陀斐特地方一樣地被沾污。」』

他們的結局是滅亡；他們所事奉的神就是自己的肚子；他們所誇耀的是在於他們的羞恥；他們是意念着地上之事的人。

然而他們卻叛逆了我，不肯聽我，各不拋棄他們眼中所喜愛可憎之像，不離棄埃及的偶像。『我本心裏說我要將我的烈怒傾倒在他們身上，我要在埃及地之中向他們發盡我的忿怒。

我從上古就告訴了你了，事未發生以先，我就說給你聽了：免得你說：「是我的偶像作的，是我雕刻的偶像、我鑄造的神像命定的。」

王很是憂困；只因有了起誓的話和坐席的人，就不好意思辭絕她。

人若向永恆主許了願、或是起了誓、用約束的話約束自己，就不可褻瀆自己的話，總要按自己口中所出的一切話而行。

他們曾說：『我們必能以舌頭取勝；我們的嘴脣是我們自己的；誰能作我們的主呢？』

我們和我們祖宗一同犯了罪；我們有了罪孽；我們行了惡。

因為他們離棄了我，向別的神燻祭，好用他們手所作的一切事來惹我發怒，故此我必向這地發怒火，總不熄滅。

你們列祖的壞行為、猶大列王的壞行為、和他們妻子的壞行為、你們自己的壞行為、和你們妻子的壞行為、就是你們在猶大地、在耶路撒冷街上所行的、你們都忘了麼？

攻擊這城的迦勒底人必來，放火焚燒這城和它的房屋，因為在那些房頂上人曾燻祭獻與巴力，澆奠祭獻與別的神，來惹我發怒。因為以色列人和猶大人自從幼年以來就只是行我所看為壞的事，以色列就只是以他們的手所作的來惹我發怒：這是永恆主發神諭說的。因為這城自從人建造它那一天、直到今日、就常激我的怒氣和烈怒，以致我須將這城從我面前除掉。這是因為以色列人和猶大人一切的壞事，就是他們、他們的列王和首領、他們的祭司和神言人、以及猶大的人和耶路撒冷的居民所行，來惹我發怒的。

因為知道你們得贖放、脫離你們祖傳徒勞無效的生活、不是用能朽壞的東西、銀子或金子，

我們犯罪作孽，行惡背叛，偏離了你的誡命典章；我們也沒有聽從你僕人、眾神言人們、那些奉你名向我們的王和首領跟父老及國中眾民說了話的人。主啊，你是對的，是我們滿面蒙羞，正如今日一樣；慚愧的是猶大人，是耶路撒冷居民，是以色列眾人、無論近處或遠處、在你趕逐他們到之各地的，都因他們對你表現了不忠實。永恆主啊，是我們滿臉蒙羞：慚愧的是我們的王、和首領跟父老，因為我們犯罪得罪了你。
