何沙雅的兒子亞撒利雅和加利亞的兒子約哈難跟一切傲慢悖逆的人就對耶利米說：『你說了假話：永恆主我們的上帝並沒有差遣你來說：「你們不可進埃及去寄居在那裏」呀，

何沙雅子亞撒利亞、加利亞子約哈難、及狂傲之輩、謂耶利米曰、爾言誑也、我之上帝耶和華未遣爾曰、爾曹勿入埃及而居、

何沙雅子亞薩哩亞、迦哩亞子約哈難、及驕侈之士、告耶利米曰、爾出言妄誕、我之上帝耶和華未嘗遣爾、告我云、勿往居埃及、

何沙雅子亞薩利亞、加利亞子約哈難、及諸狂傲之人、告耶利米曰、爾出言虛誑、主我之天主、未嘗遣爾諭我云、勿往居伊及、

Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are lying! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to settle there.’

After that, Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, spoke to Jeremiah. And all the proud men joined them. They said,“ You are lying! The Lord our God hasn’t sent you to speak to us. He hasn’t told you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt and make your homes there.’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah and Johanan the son of Kareah and all the insolent men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie. The Lord our God did not send you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to live there,’

Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the other proud men said to Jeremiah,“ You lie! The Lord our God hasn’t forbidden us to go to Egypt!

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The LORD our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to stay there for a while!’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You are not to enter Egypt to reside there’;

that Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to dwell there.’

then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to live there for a while!’

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

Then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and other arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The LORD our God did not send you to tell us,‘ You must not go to Egypt and settle there.’

then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say,‘ You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’

以法蓮的首城是撒馬利亞；撒馬利亞的首領是利瑪利的兒子。你們若是不信，定然不得立穩。』」

於是軍長尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，加利亞的兩個兒子約哈難和約拿單，單戶篾的兒子西萊雅，並尼陀法人以斐的眾子，瑪迦人的兒子耶撒尼亞和屬他們的人，都到米斯巴見基大利。

眾軍長和加利亞的兒子約哈難，並何沙雅的兒子耶撒尼亞以及眾百姓，從最小的到至大的都進前來，

尼布甲尼撒曾使他指着神起誓，他卻背叛，強項硬心，不歸服耶和華－以色列的神。

他們不認耶和華，說：這並不是他，災禍必不臨到我們；刀劍和饑荒，我們也看不見。先知的話必成為風；道也不在他們裏面。這災必臨到他們身上。

受咒詛、偏離你命令的驕傲人，你已經責備他們。

敬畏耶和華在乎恨惡邪惡；那驕傲、狂妄，並惡道，以及乖謬的口，都為我所恨惡。

但他賜更多的恩典，所以經上說：神阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。

就是高傲的眼，撒謊的舌，流無辜人血的手，

驕傲在敗壞以先；狂心在跌倒之前。心裏謙卑與窮乏人來往，強如將擄物與驕傲人同分。

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利殺了亞希甘的兒子基大利，從米斯巴將剩下的一切百姓、兵丁、婦女、孩童、太監擄到基遍之後，加利亞的兒子約哈難和同着他的眾軍長將他們都奪回來，

你還向我的百姓自高，不容他們去嗎？

迦勒底人自高自大，心不正直；惟義人因信得生。迦勒底人因酒詭詐，狂傲，不住在家中，擴充心欲，好像陰間。他如死不能知足，聚集萬國，堆積萬民都歸自己。

凡心裏驕傲的，為耶和華所憎惡；雖然連手，他必不免受罰。

我們被那些安逸人的譏誚和驕傲人的藐視，已到極處。

凡油滑的嘴唇和誇大的舌頭，耶和華必要剪除。

這眾百姓，就是以法蓮和撒馬利亞的居民，都要知道；他們憑驕傲自大的心說：磚牆塌了，我們卻要鑿石頭建築；桑樹砍了，我們卻要換香柏樹。

法老說：「耶和華是誰，使我聽他的話，容以色列人去呢？我不認識耶和華，也不容以色列人去！」

你們當聽，當側耳而聽。不要驕傲，因為耶和華已經說了。

耶利米向眾百姓說完了耶和華－他們神的一切話，就是耶和華－他們神差遣他去所說的一切話。

你們年幼的，也要順服年長的。就是你們眾人也都要以謙卑束腰，彼此順服；因為神阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。

加利亞的兒子約哈難和在田野的一切軍長來到米斯巴見基大利，對他說：「亞捫人的王巴利斯打發尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利來要你的命，你知道嗎？」亞希甘的兒子基大利卻不信他們的話。加利亞的兒子約哈難在米斯巴私下對基大利說：「求你容我去殺尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，必無人知道。何必讓他要你的命，使聚集到你這裏來的猶大人都分散，以致猶大剩下的人都滅亡呢？」亞希甘的兒子基大利對加利亞的兒子約哈難說：「你不可行這事，你所論以實瑪利的話是假的。」

惡人面帶驕傲，說：耶和華必不追究；他一切所想的都以為沒有神。凡他所做的，時常穩固；你的審判超過他的眼界。至於他一切的敵人，他都向他們噴氣。

恐怕我飽足不認你，說：耶和華是誰呢？又恐怕我貧窮就偷竊，以致褻瀆我神的名。
