在猶大王亞撒第三年巴沙殺了他，篡了他的位。巴沙一作王就殺了耶羅波安的全家，凡有氣息的沒有留下一個，都滅盡了，正應驗耶和華藉他僕人示羅人亞希雅所說的話。

因為，他們的腳奔跑行惡；他們急速流人的血，

殺人流血，他們的腳飛跑，

心利就進去殺了他，篡了他的位。這是猶大王亞撒二十七年的事。心利一坐王位就殺了巴沙的全家，連他的親屬、朋友也沒有留下一個男丁。心利這樣滅絕巴沙的全家，正如耶和華藉先知耶戶責備巴沙的話。

「人子啊，住在以色列荒廢之地的人說：『亞伯拉罕獨自一人能得這地為業，我們人數眾多，這地更是給我們為業的。』所以你要對他們說，主耶和華如此說：你們吃帶血的物，仰望偶像，並且殺人流血，你們還能得這地為業嗎？你們倚仗自己的刀劍行可憎的事，人人玷污鄰舍的妻，你們還能得這地為業嗎？

比加轄的將軍、利瑪利的兒子比加背叛他，在撒馬利亞王宮裏的衛所殺了他。亞珥歌伯和亞利耶並基列的五十人幫助比加；比加擊殺他，篡了他的位。
