暗利用兩擔銀子向撒瑪買了撒瑪利亞山；把山加以建造，就按山的原主撒瑪的名字給所建造的城起名叫撒瑪利亞。

他把永恆主的殿和王的宮室都燒掉，又燒了耶路撒冷的一切房屋，連所有大幢的房屋都放火燒。

以色列人全會眾都聚集在示羅，把會棚立在那裏；那地在他們面前被征服了。

『你們是永恆主你們的上帝的兒子，不可為死人刻劃你們自己的身體，也不可使你們的額上光禿；

羅波安往示劍去；因為以色列眾人都到了示劍、要立他作王。

雅各從巴旦亞蘭回來的時候，平平安安地來到迦南地的示劍城，在城的東面支帳棚。

耶路巴力的兒子亞比米勒到了示劍去見他的眾母舅，對他們、和他母親父系家屬的全宗族講話說：

這樣、年年都是如此：每逢她上永恆主的殿，毘尼拿總是這樣惹她發怒，以致她哭了，不喫飯。

猶大王亞撒三十八年、暗利的兒子亞哈登極來管理以色列；暗利的兒子亞哈在撒瑪利亞作王管理以色列、有二十二年。

耶戶遇見猶大王亞哈謝的族弟兄，問他們說：『你們是誰？』他們說：『我們是亞哈謝的族弟兄；現在下去，要向王的兒子們和太后的兒子們問安。』耶戶說：『活捉住他們。』跟隨的人就活捉住他們，將他們宰殺在剪羊毛廠的坑邊：共四十二人，沒有剩下一人。

不可將你們頭的兩邊剃圓形，也不可把鬍鬚的兩邊割損。不可為死人將刻紋劃在你們的肉身上，也不可在你們身上割花紋：我是永恆主。

那地的族長希未人、哈抹的兒子示劍、看見她，就拉住她，和她同寢，玷辱了她。

因為你僕人愛慕它的石頭；連它的塵土、他們也憐惜。

哈嫩便拿大衛的臣僕、將他們的鬍鬚剃掉了一半，又把他們的衣裳割斷半截、到臀部，然後把他們放走。

因此我必待這殿，就是這稱為我名下的，你們所倚靠的，我必待這地方，就是我所賜給你們、和你們列祖的，像我從前待示羅一樣。

以色列人從埃及帶上來的約瑟骸骨、他們給埋葬在示劍，在雅各從前用一百塊銀錠從示劍的祖哈抹的子孫買得的那份田地；這就作了約瑟子孫的產業。

你請到我的地方，就是那在示羅的，我起先使我的名居住的所在，去察看我因我人民以色列的邪惡對那地所行的怎麼樣。
